hello, let me start off by saying i eat a lot of steak. i love it. everywhere i go i eat it. i could eat steak 3 times a day. soooo, when we saw this place we figured that it should be our sat night dinner spot. we chose spurs over mclintock's because that place sounded annoying with the waiters, etc.
ok, so the place works with its decor. the staff is friendly and they work quickly, but not in an annoying way. they pay attention to you and get what you need quickly. soup and salad were served right away and both were basic and good.
it didn't take long for my prime rib (the special of the night) and my guest's bbq chicken breast to arrive. really, it came out too quick.
the bbq chicken was ok, but basically all they do is cook up a chicken breast and throw some mesquite bbq sauce on it after. as most people who have ever cook bbq before know, that's not really bbq, and it just makes the skin taste like the sauce. the actual chicken was normal.
my steak was not very good. it was bland and not cooked how i ordered (medium; at it was very brown). i tried some salt, no help. i tried the au jeux, no help. there has only be one other time in my life i didn't finish a steak, and i think i was 3. i ate half of it. couldn't stand it.
the rice that came with it was way too salty. the potatoes were too greasy. the piece of bread was good though.
ok, so if you really know steak, pass this one up. good on decor and attitude and bad with the food side of things. sorry. i really wanted to like it, but for $65 for two people, we should have gotten better tasting food.
oh well.
