My wife and I stayed here August 18-20, 2006. It is an absolutely lovely place, perfectly appointed, with two delightful hosts and a terrific, helpful staff.
We stayed in the Sauvignon Blanc room, which may be the lowest priced of those in the place. Completely comfortable, and surprisingly quiet, given that it's on the ground floor, near a sitting area, and facing a street. The king size bed was very comfortable, and the bath/shower had more than enough room.
Richard and Kae are terrific owners & hosts. While Healdsburg is a wonderful location for tasting wines - you can walk around the square and sample literally dozens of wines - we were glad we saved room for the tastings hosted in the Inn between 5:30 and 6:30 each night.
Breakfast is a special event. We thought we'd have hearty, American fare: Eggs, pancakes, waffles, etc. But we were pleasantly surprised by the gourmet foods we were served. Quiche, crepes, cobbler. Imaginative and delicious.
It was our first trip to Healdsburg, though we've been to other locations in Sonoma and Napa. And we've stayed in B&B's in other parts of the country. Also, I spend about 70 nights a year in business travel in a variety of brand name hotels. You won't do any better than the Grape Leaf Inn. Don't hesitate to stay there if you have the opportunity.
