Staying here for one evening was a very pleasant surprise, especially after reading so many negative reviews here. I booked my room through Priceline for $51.90. The room was quite large, with pleasant furnishings, and the bathroom was very modern, clean and bright. There were 2 queen sized beds in my room, and I thought the mattress was very comfortable. I was on the road side but the traffic noise did not bother me. I loved the outdoor hot tub and met some nice people there who recommended the Joshua Tree National Park as the dessert flowers were in full bloom. The hot tub water was perfect, clean and the stars in the sky were bright! In the morning I realized just how beautiful the swimming pool area is, as it overlooks the golf course, and the palm trees and mountains...very nice! I had a wonderful evening and I am planning to return in 2 weeks. I went to the Joshua Tree to see the flowers and they were amazing! I recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a great deal!

We have just returned from a week in the Palm Springs area, specifically at the Indian Wells Resort Hotel. Our suite had a king bed that was remarkably comfortable, a reasonably sized living room, and a huge bathroom with an extra long tub with a large adjacent glassed-in shower. The rooms were very clean and well kept. The dining room provides OK breakfasts, even better if you order off the menu as opposed to the freebie buffet. There is also an open lounge area with large screen TV and nightly musical entertainment. A real bonus to this hotel is the little "gift" store which has amazing women's clothing and accesories.
The downside of this hotel for us was that our suite was on the 2nd floor and the noise from people walking around in the suite above often woke us up or simply kept us awake. Believe it or not, their walking (sounded like stomping) actually shook the walls! If I was to do this again, I would ask for a top (3rd) floor suite or room.
We would certainly go back again, but I would want a suite and I'd ask for a top floor overlooking the pool and golf course. The service at this hotel was excellent and I would highly recommend that you try it out.

I was alittle worried when reading the other reviews of the poor facilities and dirty carpets, but that in my opinion was old news. The Indian Wells Resort that i just vacationed at was clean, new carpet, fresh painted, and wonderful to stay at.

My wife and son enjoyed the pool and dinner at the on site restaurant. The breakfast was not a "10", typical freebie stuff of breads and simple muffins. I did like the oatmeal and different choices of juices.

We stayed on the second floor and found the room was very clean. The bathroom was nice.

What I didn't like or could have been better was the bed could have been firmer and got some noise from the persons on the third floor as the ceiling insulation should be thicker - but this is an older hotel.

“A pleasurable resort in Indian Wells”

Indian Wells Resort Hotel

My girlfriend and I just returned from a one night "mini-vacation" in the Palm Springs area. The stay at this hotel was pleasant. I booked it through priceline.

The hotel's location is excellent. It's situated on a golf course, and is surrounded by similar resort type hotels and communities. Check in was a breeze. It took all of 2 minutes. The staff at the front desk was polite and personable. We stayed in a regular room with a king sized bed. The room was larger than an average hotel. It was a comfortable room, with your typical hotel-type amenities...a dresser with a 27" TV and a few drawers, a huge closet, a sitting area with a table and three chairs and a small sofa chair with an ottoman. The room also included a private balcony that overlooked highway 111. Other rooms in the hotel overlook the golf course.

The general areas of the hotel (lobby, hallways, restaurant, pool, etc.) are not extravagant, but they're not shabby or dated. They're pretty typical for a "middle of the road" hotel. I did appreciate the fact that the hallways were peppered with old photographs...presumably from the 50s and 60s.

There's nothing in particular about this hotel that stands out. I would have given it a "3" rating, but because the price we paid was far below anything else in the area, I'm giving it a "4".

I did read through these reviews after booking the hotel, and I honestly don't understand some of the gripes. The mini-bar prices were about the same as any similar hotel. The "resort fee" that many people are complaining about is clearly disclosed on their webpage (which I visited after booking). Also, a hotel putting a "hold" on credit card funds for incidentals is so common now-a-days, I don't know why anyone would gripe about it. I was actually pleased with the fact that they held only $50. I've stayed at many hotels that hold $300-$500 for incidentals.

My only real gripe about this place is the price and quality of room service. A 20% surcharge on top of sales tax is pretty typical for room service, but this hotel adds on a $4 room service fee as well. The food was so-so, but definitely not worth the price we paid.

All in all, our stay was enjoyable. We'd definitely go back to this hotel.

The Indian Wells Resort appears to be a nice place to stay,,, the lobby is nice,,,,,the pool area is nice but watch out!!! The room we stayed in had a broken leg on the nightstand, you could feel the springs thru the worn out mattress that was on the double bed. The hallways and room were dated. They supply a "mini bar" in the room with $3.65 sodas. The $18.00 "resort" fee was for the newspapers in the lobby, the wireless internet connection, and the continental breakfast. All of these items are usually included in the the price of a room at other hotels. The continental breakfast was a mixture of fruit, cereal, and some rolls. They give you "coupons" to present at breakfast in order to eat. This hotel in my opinion was a 2 star at best, it appears that the main concern here is the dollar bill and how much they can collect from you. Ive stayed in much nicer hotels in Palm Springs at half the cost with much better amenities. I mentioned something about the experience at check out and might as well have been talking to the table in the lobby. I will never stay here again and will advise others not to also. This place is a rip off!!!!!!
