Yes, the veiws are lovely here and perched on the edge of the cliff makes it even more dramatic. Our room, #37 has recently been remodeld with new carpets and furniture. The room was clean and there were no scents eminating from within.
The one golden rule I have it to check TripAdvisor.com before booking, but this time I was so taken by the full page photo advert in Via Magazine, that I completely forgot and arrived to find the lobby to be more cat friendly than my allergies can take.
It seems that once you arrive, you stay here, at least for the dinner meal and the night. The next closest spot would be 30+ minutes up or down the road and quite a road it was. The dining room adjoins the lobby and those cats had me worried. We did make it through dinner before I was unable to handle the allergies. The menu choices were great and the rack of lamb my husband ordered was especially delicious and huge as was the crab cocktail!
The next day we asked about the refund policy, I just didn't want to go through another evening of a very short get-away with the allergy thing. We had no problem cancelling the second night and getting a refund. Timber Cove Inn might consider additing the cat feature to their advertising as the cats are an essential part of the property. Folks who love cats will enjoy a stop here and those who have difficulty would know ahead of time what to expect.
All in all, it was a beautiful setting and wonderful dinner and those not bothered with cats should enjoy a stop here. Perhaps there are some rooms recently remodeled and some that are of an earlier period. Ours was nice and clean. They offer great midweek discounts.
