good place rite on the road, clean friendly service, drinkable coffe in the morning, good value for money, will stay again.

I stay at this particular Motel 6 on regular trips between Santa cruz and Long Beach. While Motel 6 is without question a budget lodging, it tends to be far and away better than similar chain motels.

The King City Motel 6 has been recently renovated, with butter yellow interior walls and bright, fun bedspreads that are like a collage of postcards. The rooms are very, very basic, remember, but 95% of the time are clean as a whistle. In the probably 20 times I have stayed here, only once did it look like the houskeeper had been in a hurry. The towels are spotless but some are a little threadbare. The staff is always happy, however, to provide more if needed. Vending machines in the lobby provide everything from toiletries to snack foods, and there are laundry facilities (coin-op) on site. There is free coffee in the lobby in the morning, but the Mickey D's nearby has a stronger brew. For a meal, try V's Diner next door--much better than the Denny's around the block. I always arrive late, after work, and Pat, the night clerk, is a real sweetheart. Motel 6 is pet-and-family friendly and has a pool. I will definitely stay here again.

Sure, most all Motel 6's are basically the same, but that's the beauty of them. This particular one had a good price at 46 dollars for a friday nite, friendly service at check in and check out, and the room was a ok. Recommended for the budget traveler.
