Soooooooooooooooo bad. Don't know where to start. Threadbare towels, ants in the room, misrepresentation regarding what was included in our group rate; showers that ran hot and cold (without touching the faucets), low water pressure in the showers (especially when nearby showers were being used), squeaky faucets that could be heard from other rooms, shuttle that didn't work, no lining in the ice bucket (ick!), no closet doors (just a bar). Maybe that's what you should expect with a 2-star property.

Our group chose this property in part because the room rate included breakfast. However, upon arrival we were told that the rate did not include breakfast. In a snide tone of voice, the front desk staff told us we could have breakfast if we paid a higher room rate.

But to top it all off - the service there is the worst I have EVER experienced at a hotel.

There were 4 very large parties in the meeting/party/ballrooms that went until past midnight -- 3 nights in a row. The noise travelled up to the top floor of the hotel, and was so loud that it actually vibrated the entire room (I felt every beat) AND jostled pictures hanging on the wall. We asked the 4 people at the front desk to ask the partygoers to turn down the music, and the entire front desk staff REFUSED to do so -- saying "it's hard to get them to turn down the music." But they wouldn't even TRY!!!! They demonstrated total disregard for the customer. I am disgusted with their lack of customer service and will never return.

I stayed here for a government business trip. It looks like an old building. There are beautiful Bougainvillea flowers all over. The hotel staff was excellent. Most of the hotel is two story with no elevators. There are window unit-type air conditioners, but they work really well. I was close to the highway, but when the air conditioner was on, I heard no road noise. The pool is nicely landscaped and there is a hot tub that doesn't scald you. Both are open 24 hours. There are 4 computers with internet available for free use and an Ok workout room. There was a desk in my room, and each room has free wireless internet. I had a huge 15 foot long balcony with two chairs on it overlooking the hot tub area. The sliding glass door had two security locks on it. My room had 2 beds and one had a squeeky frame, but the other was OK.

I don't know about other travelers, but people on government per dieum get a free breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and 2 drink coupons every day. if you are gone for lunch, they give you a sack lunch. The food was awesome, which I think makes up for the "old" look of the hotel and having to carry your bags. (I think the staff would carry your bags but I didn't ask.) The breakfast buffet is great.

I plan to stay there again.

I was reading the discription of the hotel to my friend while we were in the room and he asked why we wern't staying there instead of this dump. Bad news the discription i was read was that one. How far off it was or should i say just on the edge of the truth. It is a good location and it did have newer interior rooms but the sliding doors are still the old one and highway is about 50 ft away. boy was it noisy even with the doors shut. The "picturesque Long Beach marina" is a marina on a canal, more like a ship yard. Do not eccept a room facing the highway and above the convention bar area. When they close at 2 nothing but yelling and cars honking with drunks screamming at eachother for about an hour.

After reading some bad reviews of this hotel, my expectations were low, but I was pleasantly surprised. This hotel is clean, with large newly refurbished rooms, comfortable beds and a full breakfast right on Pacific Coast Hwy. I heard no highway noise at all, the staff were very helpful in routing me to the tourist busses and provided maps and a drawing. They advised me of freeway conditions on my departure morning as we had a big wind/rain storm the previous evening.

As I was travelling alone, I asked for a room on the upper floors which overlooked the courtyard and pool area. There is a small gym just off the main foyer.

Service was good, and for the Seniors Price of $83.75 per night, it was a real steal.
