We had read quite a number of reviews prior to booking our room.All the the reviews were accurate with respect to quality and service for a family on vacation.We travelled last summer for 5 1/2 weeks spending all of our time staying in Hotels and Motels.

I must say that after staying at the Long Beach Super 8 we were in for a lot of disappointment when we compared so many of the other hotels/motels in the same rating and price range.Only a couple of places came close to the same friendly atmosphere.

The Super 8 was very convenient for us while our daughter was attending the the Long Beach State Volley Ball camp.

We were very happy to be upgraded to a suite with 2 t.v.s and microwave and fridge....a huge room.

The only slight downside was that we did not have access to the wireless internet from our room.Nothing too inconvenient..We went up and sat in the lobby with the laptop to check emails.

We originally booked three nights at the colonial motel before we had a chance to check traveladvisor. Upon reading what a couple of people wrote, we decided to change our reservation. We switched to the Super 8 based on it's rating and reading a few of the reviews. We are so glad we stayed here. We drove past the colonial and decided we were very lucky to have found the super 8. Our kids enjoyed the hot tub. Edwin upgraded us to a room with a small dinette room. It was tiny but hey it was free. Our room was large and clean. I loved all the towells in the bathroom. For breakfast they provide fresh fruit, cereal, donuts, coffee, orange juice, milk etc. Again, you can't argue about the price. Free!! Make sure you let Edwin know how famous he is on this web site. He is a great guy and very friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

Was on a tight budget for a quick 1-night stay on Long Beach .. however, on the other hand, couldn't be in too rough-it a situation. The peace of mind element. Well, this hotel, and yes, Edwin, whom so many write about on this forum, and by which I guided to make my hotel choice, this did it. He even was on the phone with me talking me thru my being briefly lost on the local streets of Long Beach, just shy of racing to my appointment there. I arrived middle of the night, was checked in with an alert and friendly manner by the night desk person. Breakfast options great, room very clean, spacious. Would definitely stay here again, will definitely stay here again and recommend.

I just spent 2 days at this hotel and am very impressed with the manager, Edwin. I'm a frequent business traveller who typically stays at Radisson-type hotels but stayed at the Super 8 during some personal travel. The rooms are very 1970's but are clean and well cared for. Everything others have written about the quality of the staff is correct. This hotel is a real bargain.
