“Peace and quiet - mostly!”

SeaPort Marina Hotel

I live in England but I have two teenage daughters who live in Bay Harbour a couple of miles from this hotel. I stayed for 10 days in July and it was the most pleasant stay I have had in the area. I have stayed at the Golden Sails, Coast Long Beach and the Guesthouse hotel over the past 7 years and Seaport Marina was the best value for money and undoubtebly the best location. Maybe I was lucky, reading some of the reviews, and I was prepared for trouble! I stayed in one of the rooms facing the marina and apart from two nights when there were very loud people next door it was an oasis of tranquility. Everything is in walking distance including car rental. I discovered if you gave everyone a big smile they generally lightened up. Of course they are going to appear a bit gloomy with the place under threat of closing. But that would be a great shame because with some care and love it could be a great place to stay once again - at a good price!

I went there with my daughter, who was attending going there for some training. The location is not too bad, shopping was very close, and very nice restaurants.
We could not use the pool as they were filming a movie, "My Name is Stan" I don't think I'll go see this one.
They could not give us a key to the room, as the machine was not working, so they had to meet us at the room. No elevators.
The carpets were disgusting, really! They were sticky, I don't think they had been cleaned this century.
I would check out the Best Western down the road.

“Shared the hotel with movie crew....”

Unfortunately, we shared the hotel with a film crew (the whole hotel) that between the two groups (them, and us took up the whole hotel, we also were a very large group. While the hotel staff tried to accommodate us; there were still many things lacking, we could not go to certain parts of the hotel, i.e. had to take the long way around to get to our rooms because of filming; extremely inconvenient. Other area's were blocked off completely because the film crew wanted to use the parking lots closest to the rooms, again had to park much further away... could not use the pool or Jacuzzi at all during our stay, (4- nights 5-days). Filming and equipment was very noisy during the day, with the actors laughing and dancing and directors yelling cut, and rolling! The restaurant was recently closed, therefore no room service, to replace the pee water they call coffee, it is true restaurants abound in and around the hotel, many within walking distance. They truly have limousine service, that we did not believe was housed on-site; (as advertised) but was, and they had a very large selection of limousines (not shuttles or town cars but the real deal) and these were provided at very short notice and too many in our group with no notice, I am told. Our driver was very helpful and even offered inside info on nightlife, he knew firsthand many of the places we were interested in, and his opinion swayed us. Hotel for the most part was helpful; offering towels and extra pillows when called, but others complained they didn't have the same amenities we had in our rooms, so ask, i.e. coffee pots, (although there’s only held a strange coffee pod type dispensation of again; pee water. Also noted by an earlier reviewer, there was one woman, upon check-in that was rude and likely in the wrong profession, it is my opinion she should not work with the public, she did not know anything about the area, and could not even direct us to a coffee joint (that was later found just across the street!) I can excuse this if it were not that she was rude and very unfriendly, it seemed to me she would rather not have any dialog with guests at all if it could be avoided. The conference rooms and hospitality suites we used were conveniently located.
As mentioned earlier, the hotel is old and looks it, the style is much older, and it is my opinion that in a very short number of years will likely be bulldozed to accommodate a newer more upscale hotel which would likely be a successful venture for an existing hotelier... the thing that was most appreciated was convenience, and I am told we got a great rate that is surprising to me in that the hotel is not up to par with others that surround the area, unless their costs are by far higher, I may have paid a higher cost in retrospect.

Our oveall stay was quite wonderful the staff was very polite. the management was extremley helpful. It was also quiet and roomy. There were lots of accessible stores, resturants, as well as movie theaters. I totally enjoyed staying there as well as my husband and two small children. My husband and i were even married there. So take my word for it this hotel's service and overall stay well exceeds there cost.

I have been staying at this hotel everytime I am in the Long Beach area for about a year now. I appreciate the quick service and help that I needed during my stays there. I'd stay here everytime I'm in town. :)
