We had booked two hotel rooms at this hotel for a conference being held in Long Beach. I contacted the hotel directly and booked two rooms, gave credit information and received two confirmation numbers. There was a problem with the name on the reservation a week later, I had to call and re-confirm and they said they fixed everything and the reservation was fine.

Upon arrival we were informed that they didn't have our reservation and that they were completely booked with no availability. Nearly every other hotel in the area was booked! Luckily Holiday Inn has another location near by that they booked us at.

Upon calling after the trip I was told by a VERY rude staffmember who constantly interrupted me that they probably didn't lose the reservation but that they over book and if they book too many rooms they just find somewhere else for you to stay...what's the point of the reservation then!?

Stayed here 2 nights before a Mexico cruise. Being from NY, I had no idea how bad the area was and didn't do enough research. (Live and learn!). The hotel was clean and all of the workers were professional, but the surrounding area is not good. Breakfast ws so-so. I would not recommend staying here. Good luck.

The neighborhood is frightening and made us all regret booking this hotel. A shirtless man in tatoos greeted us as we exited the elevator to go to our room. Maybe we should have brought our M-16's. Reserved room w/2 king beds. Got 2 doubles. The sheets and blankets were wet from not being dryed. The hotel restaurant completely botched the breakfast with only 2 tables occupied. The underground garage is not secure especially in this neighborhood. They gave us a free breakfast coupon and took 25 bucks off the room. Stay somewhere else. Downtown Long Beach is a pit.

After reading some of the earlier reviews, I was hesitant about our stay here. It was just for an overnight before a Hawaiian cruise. The hotel staff was very helpful, the front desk accomodating, the waitstaff cheerful, room clean, and looked newly renovated, food was good. The free transportation was a plus, both to visit the Queen Mary, and then on to our cruise ship. As priority club members, we got late check out enabling us to see a little of Long Beach before leaving, a discount on the next morning's breakfast, and a bag of snacks. The surrounding area is a little dicey- but for our purpose, the hotel was just fine.
