Radisson Hotel at Los Angeles Airport

5 Dec 2007

Stayed here after flight from UK. Chosen for price, $136 incl taxes etc , free 5-10 minute shuttle bus from terminal. Check in efficient and quick, but as we were so tired , body clock on 0300 we went upto bed, having played with the number bed thing, ie changing firmness of mattress all had a good nights sleep. The room was good 2 queen beds tv etc, slighty worn appearance of bathroom. The soundproofing was excellant only a dull roar of engines could be heard next day and great views of the aircraft/runways. As we were late getting off to collect our hire car we didn't eat there. Overall a very good place to stay after a long late flight.

Stayed at hotel ahead of flying out to atlanta at 6am, so needed to be near LAX. As others have said this is just so convienent for early morning flights, with the shuttle bus running through the night. Stayed in Room 554. Large room, efficent checkin, with a complimentary USA Today. Coffee making facilities in room. Overlooking airport, but it was quiet. Good TV with in room movies if waiting for flight. Bar on top of hotel overlooking runways opens at 530pm. Also does food. I was impressed, and would fully recommend.

“Double Check Your Reservations”

Just a cautionary tale to let people know that if you book your room through a third party at this hotel, ALWAYS confirm your reservation. We had booked this hotel with Priceline using the Name Your Price feature. I called the hotel the day before our arrival to let them know we would be arriving very late and they could not find our reservation. After numerous calls back and forth between me, Priceline and the hotel, the bottom line was the hotel would not honor the price I received on Priceline, even though we had confirmed reservations. According to the "Revenue Manager", it was my fault for booking through a 3rd party and that he would happily give me a room at full price ($189.00).

I would like to point out that Priceline was VERY helpful on their end and as upset about it as I was. I could not have imagined what would have happened had we arrived at the hotel at midnight as planned - we would have slept in the lobby, I guess. We did the Priceline thing again and got a room at the LAX Hilton for my original offer and were pleased - I have already written a positive review for them.

To be fair, I did call Radisson Corporate Customer Service to complain, as I was pretty appalled by the whole experience. They offered to intervene on my behalf, since I had already gotten the room at the Hilton I told them there was no need, but that they should indeed look into it to avoid future problems.

After over an hour of international long distance charges, not to mention the lost time and hassle involved the day before our trip and I don't have good feelings about the Radisson LAX. I would triple check your reservations with them, unless of course, you paid full price!

“room was dumpy”

The hotel is said to be remodeled, but our room, although "remodeled", had substantial wear and tear. The ceiling tiles were water stained and broken; the carpet was ratty; the staples on the threshold to the bathroom were prickley; the bedding was worn and disgusting; the bathtub drain was malfunctioned.

This is an incredibly convenient hotel to the airport, but I would suggest other properties.

“Great for a short stay near the airport”

Radisson Hotel at Los Angeles Airport

We stayed for two nights at the Radisoon LAX before flying to Mexico. The hotel provided a free bus service between the airport and the hotel, the trip takes around 5 mins. Our room was large and clean, if slightly worn, especially the bathroom.

The room was well sound proofed - we could barely hear the planes taking off and landing just across the road! Provided were iron and board, coffee maker, tv, alarm radio, toiletries and individually controlled air conditioning.

The hotel has two reasonably priced restaurants which provide a good standard of food and a lounge which provides drinks and snacks. A drink in the penthouse bar over looking the LA skyline is recommended. The buffet breakfast is a good option which includes hot meats, porridge, cereal, fruit and bakery.

There is a local free trolley service provided to Manhattan beach and a local shopping mall, this stops just outside the hotel, an ideal way to spend a lazy day.

The concierge was very helpful with good advice for onward travel arrangements.

The hotel has an outdoor pool which didn't seem to be heated, it can be very noisy due to its proximity to the airport.
