I’ve had a couple of stays here, and the Montura continues to delight.
Rooms sparkle, with Marriott Revive bedding. Toiletries are by Lather. High speed internet is at 100meg, although I had a couple of signal drops that were irritating on this visit.
Front desk upgraded me to Club Floor (Silver Marriott status), which I was pleased with. When I got to the lounge (around 8:00p) most of the hot food was gone, but I had a couple of serviceable Buffalo wings and a glass of nice wine. Wine in the lounge is priced similarly to the restaurant at $8 to 12 per glass.
I ate dinner in the restaurant, which was unusually busy. Service suffered a bit from slowness (it was a Saturday night), but the food was as good as always. The menu seems to have slimmed down a bit…
Breakfast in the lounge was nice. Plenty of breads and fruits, hot egg somethingorothers. Coffee available in go cups. There was a free access PC in the lounge for printing boarding passes.
Lounge hint: They put out room temperature bottled water on the counter, but if you ask, they can produce well chilled sparkling water!
When I transit LAX (usually en route to Asia) I only have my travel agent check the Montura and the Westin. This time, I got a $119 rate, so was really pleased.
Plus, it may be the only airport hotel in the world with a substantive collection of artwork, nicely placed around the lobby and the building… you don’t find that at the LAX Marriott!
I’ll be back!
