This is a great hotel. It has the look of an old Victorian style hotel cum castle complete with suits of amour in the lobby. The rooms are very large, clean, well kept with a combination of antique and made to look like antique furniture. Very convenient for cruise passengers, the hotel has a shuttle that takes you to the pier for 5.00 per person. You book it the night before. No complaints whatsoever.

My family stayed at the Holiday Inn for one night prior to a cruise. Our room was large and clean, we had room service and it arrived promptly and quickly. The neighbourhood is not great, but we weren't really there for a vacation, so no problem. The decor is old fashioned, but again, clean and comfortable. We were provided with a shuttle to the cruise terminal which was a nice added perk.

We stayed at the HI San Pedro with our girl's Softball team (Go Shockwaves!) and were very happy with our stay. The hotel was easy to find, had convenient parking, check in was fast and easy. I liked the antique decor, they have worked hard to make this older hotel look special. Our room was clean and good sized. The high ceilings through out the hotel makes it seem spacious. The only thing I found substandard was the TV channel choices. We had a choice of 2-12 and that's it! They need to add premium channels like every other hotel in America has. The restaurant was good, and kids under 12 eat free, what a deal. Part of our group went down for Saturday night Karaoke and had a great time. All in All a very positive experience!

I stayed here once and then again 3 days later over the Xmas holiday. The rooms are big and furnishings are a bit old fashioned, antique replica and sometimes reminded me of the old west. I think I stayed in 425 the first night and to be honest, I honestly think it's haunted.

I heard chairs pulling out on hard floors and people talking at 3:30 in the morning and a man's voice distinctly saying "hello." All the floors are carpeted in the hotel and there are no floors above the 4th. V. strange. Later, I stayed in 419 which was quiet. One thing, if you are a non-smoker, as am I, I think the 3rd floor is very smoking and the smoke rises to the middle floors of the 4th floor.

The bar was empty though they advertised karaoke. I'm wondering if anyone showed up? The desk could improve on English language skills. Parking is free and there is a garage. They try to be nice. Lots of cruisers here becuase the cruise ships leave immediately some blocks away in the harbor.

A decent place to stay if you are in San Pedro. Lots of food nearby on Gaffey Street.
