Recently stayed at this property for one night after a late night arrival from South America. Airport Shuttles to the Hotel were frequent. However my only complaint concerning the shuttles was that the shuttle was marked only "Express". There was no indication which hotels the shuttles were headed. After seeing a couple of the shuttles pass by and no shuttles indicating the Crowne Plaza appeared I called the hotel only to find out that it was these shuttles I needed to board. Once I got on the shuttle however, the trip to the hotel was quite fast with one stop at a park and ride. Check in at the hotel was also fast and efficient. I was upgraded since I was a Platinum Priority Club Member. I found the hotel room to be quite nice. The bed was large and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to see that a sleep soundly amenity kit with CD, blindfolds, earplugs and aromatherapy lotion was provided. The bathroom was standard with the usual amenities. I was provided with vouchers for breakfast and two vouchers for free drinks/cocktails or starbucks coffee. The breakfast buffet was quite good and the service staff quite pleasant and helpful. I also was not charged for internet access. All in all I found this hotel to be quite nice and would definitely consider staying there again if I find myself transiting through LAX.

“Mixed Bag”

Crowne Plaza Los Angeles-International Airport

This hotel is a bit of a mixed bag, some aspects of the hotel are excellent, others average to poor.

The Rooms: Comparable to more expensive hotels, spacious and tasteful decor, very clean. One big negative is that they are still charging for wireless internet access, seems a bit chintzy.

Shuttle to Airport: Fast and frequent.

Service: All staff at the hotel are really good, friendly and helpful.

Food etc: This is where the hotel suffers terribly. The food is very over priced, and seems about on par with Dennys and Applebees except at upscale prices. Did I mention that it is really expensive? It is. If you stay here, make sure you have a car so you can find a decent restaurant. There is nothing in walking distance.

“Great Stay”

Crowne Plaza Los Angeles-International Airport

20 Dec 2007

I needed a place near the airport for the last night of a long stay in California and chose this property because I had a lot of Priority Club points and thought I would use them.

The check-in and check-out were without problems though the hotel was experiencing some computer problems. I was given a room on the club level with complimentary drink and breakfast coupons. I did not expect this and was pleasantly surprised.

I had turned in my Hertz rental car and they provided a courtesy shuttle to airport hotels which I took advantage of so I felt like I received a very good value on this stay--free ride, free meals, free room. I highly recommend joining all the hotel point clubs.

The room here was very nice. I appreciate how Crowne Plaza properties provide guests with curtain clips--I have found this to be true at all properties and it is so nice to ensure that the morning sun will not interrupt one's sleep. I don't care for the other "sleep" amenities they leave--the room fragrance, the sleep CD, etc. but the curtain clips are a good thing!! What will interrupt one's sleep at this property is the runway noise. There were earplugs in the room for a reason! The noise is constant all night long.

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with good water pressure. The television had pay per view movies and the room was furnished well.

The restaurant downstairs was especially good with a lunch buffet that I enjoyed. The two breakfast buffets were also good with hot oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, fruit, etc. I also had dinner at the restaurant. My rib-eye was probably not the best I had ever eaten but it was cooked well with a good flavor and I was pleased with the meal.

The elevators were very fast-I never had to wait for an elevator and the people were all very friendly. There is a sushi bar and a coffee bar near the check-in desk that is open most of the day and there always seemed to be people there. A lot of airline personnel were in the hotel.

I personally will use this hotel when I need to be near LAX as the shuttle service is good and the restaurant is a plus, but I would not choose this as a "headquarters" hotel when visiting the area due to the airport noise. My room faced the runway and it was interesting to watch the traffic. Perhaps a room on the street side would be less noisy. If you need a room near LAX this is worthy of consideration.

“Crown Plaza is a great place to stay”

Crowne Plaza Los Angeles-International Airport

The Crown Plaza is a wonderful place to stay in LA. The staff was extremely accomodating and friendly. The rooms were very nice and clean, and it's extremely resonable price wise. The restaurant has good food too. The only negative that occured is the frontdesk charged the wrong credit card at check out and this caused all kinds of problems. I still don't have my money back. I would definitely stay there again.

Room was worn out as this hotel is used by flight crews and mostly one night guests in and out of LAX. Guest room was worn, but clean. Public areas were great and restaurant was good. Front desk and all other employees were friendly. I will stay here again.
