A previous reviewer said this Marriott was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and I agree. The Saturday night before Memorial Day weekend, we had trouble finding a hotel room in the L.A. area without a reservation, and we landed one of the last two rooms left in this hotel. A desk clerk checked to see if we could get the AAA discount, and oddly, she said the price came in *higher* with the discount. Given a shortage of rooms, we grabbed this one anyway. BTW, even with the hotel being full, there was plenty of free parking toward the sides and back of the parking lot.
Although the lobby was teeming with children, our room, which overlooked the lobby entrance, was quiet. It was an average-sized hotel room, with no refrigerator or microwave. The front desk requested a refrigerator be brought to the room, which they did at no extra charge. (Some Marriott Courtyards charge $10 for a fridge.)
The room and bathroom were quite clean, except for one missed spot vacuuming the carpet. The bathroom sink is inside the bathroom. Water pressure was good in the bathroom, although the figuring out hot and cold were not intuitive. In the middle of the night, my partner noticed one large cockroach in the bathroom (but fortunately none of its relatives.) In my experience, cockroaches are common in L.A. area hotel bathrooms, so if there's just one, you're luck.
We had two double beds, both of which had quite comfortable pillowtop mattresses and lots of pillows to choose from. My partner said this was the best hotel bed he had ever slept in. (I'd say it was in the top 10%.)
There are a couple of computers in the lobby for which you can use a credit card or charge to the room. I didn't use any of the amenities, there is a decent looking pool and a gym off the lobby that looked better than the old broken down hotel "gyms" I've visited lately.
With taxes and fees, our one night stay came to just under $200. I found this place average to above average. No major complaints. I'd stay here again.
