A very Mendocino experience. Very professionally run, but with a warm and personal feel. The food was fabulous, from the afternoon tea/sherry hour to the palate and eye pleasing breakfast, which was the finest we have ever had at a B & B - and we've had some very good ones. The Caspar Cottage was a wonderfully spacious and private retreat, definitely our choice if we return. The Headlands Inn deserves all the accolades it receives.

Wow, this was our first expierience at a B&B so we didn't know what to expect. Well before we even arrived Denise was already on the phone booking our massages at Mendocino Massage. When we arrived we were greeted by the friendly staff and given the grand tour. We stayed in the Barry room with and ocean view, fireplace ready to be lit and a good size bathroom with tub and shower. Breakfast brought to your room every morning, and let me tell you this is not just muffins and juice. The breakfast was fabulous and delicious with plenty of fruit to go along with it. Coffee, the morning paper and flowers to top it all off. (The stuffed French Toast was our favorite.) Everyone was so nice but not intrusive. The cookies and tea in the parlor every afternoon just topped it all off. The Headlands is in the middle of town so walking distance to all the shoppes and Beach. We so did not want to leave and will definitly be back ASAP. I strongly recommend The Headlands Inn for anyone who has always wanted to try a B&B.

My daughter and wanted to take a brief road trip to Mendocino before she began law school. I spent a lot of time researching the various places to stay in Mendocino to find one that would accommodate a mother/daughter duo. The Headlands Inn was definitely the best choice and we loved our time there. We were only able to stay two nights, and I was very sad when we left as everything was so relaxing and well thought out. We felt like we had escaped to another place and time.

We stayed in the Bessie Strauss Suite and reserved a rollaway bed for my daughter which was the most comfortable rollaway she had ever slept on. The room is quite large and was able to accommodate us easily. It has bay windows that look out to a beautiful English garden and then beyond that, to the ocean. We sat there in the mornings and ate our amazing breakfast and felt so pampered. I liked the fact that the breakfast was delivered to our room, complete with china, flowers and every little detail thought of, so that we didn't have to get dressed and go downstairs. The suite was also right next to the parlor where tea is served every afternoon and that almost felt like an extension of our room. When we arrived, a fire was all set up in the fire place so that in the evening, all we had to do was light it. How nice! There were also comfy bathrobes for us and the bedding was wonderful. The room was very quiet and the staff was friendly without being instrusive. The Headlands Inn is in a great location as well. We were able to walk to all of the wonderful restaurants and shops as well as to the beach and the headlands. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast and hope to return sometime in the future!
