“Fabulous Inn with a B &n B flair”

My hubby & I were on a day long drive that turned into 2. We saw the Brewery Gulch Inn from the road & stopped in late in the afternoon to see if they still had a room. We had a beautiful view of an ocean inlet. The amenities and care the Inn takes to ensure a great visit were obvious from the moment we walked in the door, from the cozy fire in the common room to the selection of reading material, DVDs for the in room players and obvious attention to a variety of guests, we felt right at home. Staff was friendly & welcoming. The afternoon wine & snacks and gourmet breakfast were an unexpected treat. We will be back!

My husband and I spent three nights at the Brewery Gulch Inn. It is a great place and the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. The owner, Guy, was the most hospitable host I've ever encountered. The late afternoon "wine hour" is a real treat. The wine and lite meal are top-notch. I'm a major breakfast person and they do not disappoint. You order off the menu and the selections are all well-presented and absolutely delicious. There is always something around to nibble on, games to play, music & movies to watch. It's where I learned to play chess!

We can't wait to return.
Thanks Guy and staff for a wonderful time.

Wonderful, homey, comfortable rooms. Wi-fi access which reaches everywhere in the inn, and on the property. Fabulous afternoon food. World's best breakfasts. Wonderful, personable owner and staff. Right near the town (you cab be back from dinner in 2 minutes, literally.). Nice views. Great wines. Wonderful frog and cricket sounds.

This Inn is a beautiful and inviting place to stay on the Coast. The rooms are clean, cozy and tastefully furnished. The beds and linens are wonderfully comfortable. We had our own fireplace and big tub! The main room of the Inn is beautifully decorated with Craftsman style furnishings that are cozy and comfortable. The views are marvelous; the food is delicious; the proprietor and his staff are always at the ready to provide help, information, a glass or two of wine or just to chat! We ate our main meal there every night as part of their extremely generous wine tasting hour: They serve a number of dishes and call them appetizers....Not when you go back for seconds! Breakfasts were delighful, as well!
It was a perfect getaway and we will definitely go back there!

“Wonderful service, beautiful decor but a bit expensive”

We had stayed here in 2004 and had a wonderful time. The management has since changed and we felt that the service, amenities, decor have only gotten better.

Everything that all the positive reviews have said is true. The folks who work here are unfailingly helpful and there is an extraordinary attention to detail - e.g. when we came back from dinner one night, the rain was falling lightly and Guy not only opened the door for us but also came out to meet us at the car with a big umbrella.

What I love most about BGI is the decor. It's very Pottery Barn looking - beautiful muted greens/browns/taupes/yellows. Comfortable overstuffed leather chairs by the fireplace with warm blanks draped over the backs. No pink, lace, frills, etc that seem to be the standard in other places in Mendocino.

The jacuzzi tubs are absolutely incredible - more than big enough for 2 people and lots of nice Molton Brown toiletries.

The food is amazing.

The one downside for us this last trip was that we could hear our noisy upstairs neighbors. I'm not sure if it's the architecture or that the folks above us were extra loud, but we could hear them walking around (waking us up in the middle of the night and every morning at 6am) and even sometimes hear them talking.
We didn't get a great night's sleep and, because of that, $395/night for the room seemed expensive. I'd definitely return but would book an upstairs room.
