“overpriced with limited hopitality”

Annie's Jughandle Beach Bed & Breakfast Inn

I was a guest in the Headlands room on a holiday weekend and felt that the room was overpriced in that it did not include a fireplace or tub and the ocean view was compromised by power lines and road noise from Highway One outside the window. In addition, on the first day all four couples awoke to no coffee or breakfast at the appointed hour and when we called the owner to inquire what to do, there was no apology or explaination, and as we awaited the meal we wondered where the personalized and gracious feeling one should expect from a bed and breakfast inn was. At the prices we paid we would not reccommend this B&B.

I was shocked by the bad reviews then realized that Gregg & Michelle are new owners who have really turned a tired B&B into a first class establishment! The gardens are equisite, the hospitality unsurpassed, the breakfasts memorable and the lovely new deck with its oceanview a perfect place to have afternoon tea or wine. The Inn is the perfect honeymoon getaway. The Jughandle secluded beach is a short hike through a beautiful redwood estuary.

Annie's was a great value for what we got, especially on a busy holiday weekend. We stayed in the Redwood room which was complete with gas fireplace and jacuzzi tub. Very cozy and comfortable. It was so nice to have coffee waiting outside the room in the morning and the breakfast served was delicious.

We had a great time at Annie's. Enjoyed the breakfast's and the comfy cozy feeling we got there. The owners were very hospitable and made us feel at home. We would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to be at home away from home. Thanks Greg and Michelle!

“Good breakfast, bad management”

My wife and I stayed here during a Memorial Day weekend getaway. We booked the Headlands Room for two nights (Fri/Sat) and mentioned to the owner we might want to stay a third. The morning after our second night, we confirmed we'd like to stay one more night (mostly to avoid the hassle of moving), and were told this would be no problem. After driving around Anderson Valley winerys for the day, we returned to Annie's around 6 pm. The caretaker approached and said he had forgotten that someone else booked the room and that we'd need to clear out the room and leave. We were shocked (having stayed two nights already) that he had done nothing to arrange alternative lodging, and he seemed annoyed at our request that he suggest and/or help us find somewhere else to stay--no easy task on a busy holiday weekend! This was our first B&B experience, and we were disappointed to end a relaxing day having to rush to find alternate lodging--isn't the personal touch supposed to be the reason for paying extra for a B&B? The room was small with a semi-functional radio; bed felt well used, though everything was clean. If you're not wild about the whole B&B thing, I wouldn't recommend throwing $190 a night, despite the breakfast. There's great breakfast possibilities in Fort Bragg just down the road, and much better things to do than hang around in Annie's quasi-antique living room. All said, we were disappointed...
