I spent over 3 hours on line looking for places to stay in Mendocino that were contemporary, renovated and offered amenities that I was wanted-Packard House was a fabulous choice. The Garden Cottage is like home away from home--the furnishings were clean and modern, the room had cathedral ceilings, a fireplace, soft inviting bedding and towels. We spent five days hardly getting in our car, hanging out, walking around town, hiking the highlands, eating great food at the local restaurants. Our days started with a basket of yummy fresh baked goods, homemade jam, yogurt, tea and fruit brought to our door every morning. When the Inn was not full, we had the option of eating a hot meal inside, which on the day we chose, was a wonderful egg souffle. The Inn Keepers were so warm and friendly and created an ambiance in the Inn proper and two cottages that cannot be found elsewhere in Mendocino. Believe me, I have looked! This is a get-away you will not forget. We are already thinking of when to go again!

We stopped in Mendocino on the third leg of our San Fran, Sonoma, Mendo trip. The B&B is decorated in a modern way, with beautiful furniture and bedding. We loved our room, complete with a large whirlpool and views of the ocean. Breakfasts were gourmet looking and delicious. Restaurants in the town were hit or miss. We got terrible service at MacCallum House, as did another guest of the B&B (on a different night and with a different server). The Moose was the best place we ate at. The Mendocino Hotel bar was a friendly place to have a drink after dinner.

My husband and I spent two nights in the Village View room during our honeymoon and we were definitely wowed! Damien was a gracious host who made great dinner recommendations. Our room was even bigger than the photos portrayed but otherwise they hit the mark.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything: the bed, linens, jetted tub, decor, house, and food. The chef was a delight both mornings and the food tasted great. It was so refreshing to finally find a B&B that isn't a stuffy old Victorian.

We certainly look forward to returning to the Packard House as often as possible.

My husband and I just returned from a two night stay at Packard House in honor of our 10 year Wedding Anniversary. I spent hours on TA reviewing B&B's and was refreshed to see the modern accomodations in a historic home. Booking the room was simple and I found the staff friendly on the phone, unlike the call to the areas supposed #1 B&B.

The Pacific View room was exactly as it was described and pictured on it's web site. Upon arrival we found a special bottle of wine in our room in celebration of our anniversary.

Everything from the sheets, bath towels and bath products to the pillows were luxurious. The room was very clean and everything was in excellent working order. We enjoyed the fireplace and the two person jetted bathtub. The garden was beautiful and well maintained.

We saw many of the B&B's we had looked at on the internet driving through town and were surprised to see exact locations and surrounding areas which don't show up on web pages. We were even more
pleased with our choice of Packard House. We were given excellent dinner recomendations from our host and were well pleased. We took the basket breakfast the first morning and the sit down option the second morning. Both were delicious options accompanied by fresh squeezed orange juice and delicious coffee and premium tea. Our cooked breakfast consisted of poached pear-Yum! Strawberry topped orange Belgian wafffles and chicken pine nut sausages. There was great attention to detail in the service wear and serving pieces and we enjoyed it all. We liked our room more than any other part of our trip and found our host, Damien to be the most friendly person we encountered in Mendocino on our trip. We would send our friends here and would gladly return again.
