My husband and I just returned from a two night stay at Packard House in honor of our 10 year Wedding Anniversary. I spent hours on TA reviewing B&B's and was refreshed to see the modern accomodations in a historic home. Booking the room was simple and I found the staff friendly on the phone, unlike the call to the areas supposed #1 B&B.

The Pacific View room was exactly as it was described and pictured on it's web site. Upon arrival we found a special bottle of wine in our room in celebration of our anniversary.

Everything from the sheets, bath towels and bath products to the pillows were luxurious. The room was very clean and everything was in excellent working order. We enjoyed the fireplace and the two person jetted bathtub. The garden was beautiful and well maintained.

We saw many of the B&B's we had looked at on the internet driving through town and were surprised to see exact locations and surrounding areas which don't show up on web pages. We were even more
pleased with our choice of Packard House. We were given excellent dinner recomendations from our host and were well pleased. We took the basket breakfast the first morning and the sit down option the second morning. Both were delicious options accompanied by fresh squeezed orange juice and delicious coffee and premium tea. Our cooked breakfast consisted of poached pear-Yum! Strawberry topped orange Belgian wafffles and chicken pine nut sausages. There was great attention to detail in the service wear and serving pieces and we enjoyed it all. We liked our room more than any other part of our trip and found our host, Damien to be the most friendly person we encountered in Mendocino on our trip. We would send our friends here and would gladly return again.

From the moment we pulled up to the stunning yellow home that is Packard House, we were hooked. The decor finds the perfect balance between magazine-gorgeous and warm liveability. Our room, the Pacific View, had every conceivable amenity perfectly defined: bottle of Navarro wine, jacuzzi with Fresh hair and body products, cashmere bathrobes and a glowing fire. I've never slept in a bed more inviting, with the softest linen and pillows. After a day treking through the nearby state park trails or canoeing up the Big River, there is nothing better to sink into!

The breakfasts were equally wowing. Poached fruit with drizzled cinnamon and creme freche started each morning, followed by homemade sausages or Eggs Benedict that could be the feature at any of the finest restaurants in Northern California.

I could never have imagined this level of perfection, and look forward to the next time. And the next, and the next.

My husband and I came to celebrate our one year anniversary and it was perfect!! The house was beautiful, the room was very comfortable and we loved the hot tub in our room! We would definitely recommend it to our friends!!

My partner and I wanted a quiet get a way for the weekend to celebrate both our birthdays, and that is what we found at the Packard House. After reviewing several websites regarding rooms in the Mendocino area, we were attracted to the website and the photos of the Packard House. While we like the rustic atmosphere of Mendocino, in our rooms we like quality and comfort, and that is what we found at the Packard House.

I had never stayed at a B&B, rather prefering to stay at nice comfortable hotels, so this was a first for me. I have to say, without reservation I will return to the Packard House many times in the future. They are adding on and will be offering some unique and enjoyable amenities.

Becky greeted us upon our arrival and was full of information on what to do and where we should eat at. We had already made reservation at several restaurants, but should have taken her advice as her choices might have been better than our searches that were done strickly on internet searches.

Each morning Steven prepared an outstanding breakfest in the dining room for my partner and I. He also provided very useful information about the area and offered up great conversation.

We stayed in the Pacific View room and we were very comfortable. Plenty of room, a nice view of the Ocean in the distance. While the weather was rainy and overcast, it was just what we wanted. We slept with the window open so we could hear the waves crashing on the rocks at the oceans edge.

I have nothing but positive comments about the Packard House. From the beautiful decor, art work, comfortable bed, great soaps, shampoos, tub, Bose CD player, candles, and outstanding breakfast each morning to the wonderful staff....all outstanding and all very much appreciated.

We look forward to our next stay at the Packard House.
