First of all we were blessed with the most glorious sunny and clear weather. Locals said the weather is generally great in the Fall.
My husband and I recently got married and took our honeymoon in Mendocino. We stayed in the new Lupe Gorden Suite for 4 nights of the Joshua Grindle Inn. It's a short walk from the main house. It was absolutely perfect! It was quaint, secluded, and very quiet. It was the perfect antidote to a relaxing break from wedding planning.
We loved the separate sitting room from the bedroom. We were welcomed with freshly baked cookies and a nice note from the innkeepers. The bed was very soft and comfortable. We slept very well because it was incredily quiet. Also, we liked its modern amenities with a TV and DVD player.
The innkeepers, Charles and Cindy, were the nicest hosts. We loved their breakfast, especially the artichoke souffle and the berry stuffed french toast. Freshly baked muffins were a wonderful addition. The breakfast area is quaint and we had an opportunity to meet other guests. We love that breakfast was served until 10:30. Charles and Cindy shared some great ideas on things to do while on our honeymoon.
We enjoyed a sunset picnic on the beach with a bonfire. Go to the nearest market and grab some dinner. We also took a canoe trip up the river. Charles packed a picnic for us to take on our trip. We ate at some great restaurants. 955 Ukiah had great food. Ledford House had a great view for a beautiful sunset. It was all very romantic and perfect for us. We will gladly return for our anniversary in the years to come.
