My wife and I spent our honeymoon driving up and down the California coast, including two nights at the Joshua Grindle Inn in Mendocino. The Inn is picturesque, and the main house where we stayed was built nearly 130 years ago, and has the charm of an old, loved edifice. We were there the week before Christmas, and the parlor had wrapping paper and all the accoutrements necessary to wrap any holiday gifts, as well as some wonderful Christmas decorations. Considering the many charming shops in Mendocino, this is quite helpful. There is also a delicious breakfast provided to guests every morning, prepared by Charles. What really sets the Joshua Grindle Inn apart, however, is the marvelous way that guests are treated by Cindy and Charles. Their attention to details to insure that each guest has a special stay is extraordinary. All in all, this was a piece of heaven on earth, and we cannot wait to return.
