My husband and I stayed at this B&B for a long weekend getaway. Although this is not the most luxurious inn we have ever stayed at, it is one of our absolute favorites.
The owners are warm, charming, and attentive without being overbearing. They have that sixth sense of knowing when to approach guests, and knowing when to allow privacy. They provided us with advice on a beautiful day hike in the area, and packed a fabulous picnic meal for us to take along. They also provided wonderful restaurant recommendations and made all our reservations for us.
The breakfasts are to DIE for, seriously. I am still dreaming about the warm, homemade chocolate cherry scone served one morning as only part of the meal! The inn also has a refrigerator where guests can help themselves to sodas and water, and they leave out little surprises for guests to enjoy at their convenience like cookies, sherry, and wine.
Our room, the Libary room, was cozy and romantic and we loved the wood-burning fireplace. It was kept very clean by the friendly maid staff. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the rooms here. We can't wait to return, and next time we may try one of the saltbox cottages.
Don't think twice about staying at the Joshua Grindle -- it really is a special place.
