We had a wonderful time as a "first timer" at the Joshua Grindle Inn. We had the opportunity to stay in the Lupe Suite which is a house a block or so down the street from the main building.
As many previous guests has mentioned, the best part of this B&B isn't the rooms themself, but the little personal touches that the staff makes for you.
Upon check in, we not only had a bottle of wine and fresh baked cookies in congrats of my birthday, but also little touches such as candy and soda's as well. We also had a call about 10 minutes after we had settled to make sure everything in our room was in order.
The owners were out of town this weekend, but Lindsey was all we needed to have a wonderful stay. We had to leave early (4 am) the day of our checkout due to unexpected business plans. Lindsay, the innkeeper went out of her way to ensure we had breakfast for our next morning, even though she did not have to. She graciously packed us muffins, biscotti's, and to-go coffee cups so that we could make coffee and tea in the morning prior to our departure.
The one morning we did get to enjoy breakfast, it was truly wonderful. My husband, who does not like wafffles said that he was a fan for the first time ever. Since it was a slow weekend, Lindsay also let us check out the other rooms in the inn for future stays. They all had their special touch... but my husband and I both agreed that the Lupe Suite beat them all.
The only slight issues we had... when using the blow dryer (as provided by JGI), I blew a fuse both mornings. Also, the bar claw tub is beautiful, but I ran out of hot water before I could ever get it full. Depsite those minor issues, the overall stay was wonderful.
Overall, you will not be let down. This is a wonderful romantic getaway for couples as well as a quiet and relaxing getaway for singles. We would highly recommend it to others.
We will be back.
