We stayed there the first two nights of our two-week PCH trip this fall and then the last night. The hotel is great, the room very comfortable, the staff very helpful and competent, the location is fantastic - just 10 minutes from SFO, and the continental breakfast is great - a wide variety of choices.

As we were coming close to the end of our stay it was nice to know that we were reserved in a great hotel for the last night.

Terrific!

I looked on trip advisor for hotels by San Fran. wasn't sure where to go or stay. i saw good write ups on this hotel and took the chance. i called and made my 6 night reservation. We were very happy with this motel, Elizabeth, who works front desk 7 days a week and helps with breakfast was just the greatest !!!! She was always nice, and deserves a raise !! The rooms were clean and nice. They have a few "smoking rooms", which when you walked in didn't smell like stale cigarettes. (when we were by Los Angeles we stayed at a best western and those rooms stank) We had a fridge and microwave which was nice for leftovers and liquid refreshments. They have a laundry room, which was nice but only 1 washer and 1 dryer. The owner even took the time to point out nice things to see and gave us a map. They have free internet in the lobby which was great because it saved me on "roaming" minutes with my cell phone, i could e- mail family back home. They are building new condo's next door and when the workers started to early one morning, the motel manager called the city and bosses and got them to stop !! The only problem we had was parking, on a FEW nights we got back late and had to park on the street. Breakfast bar was very nice, nothing fancy. There was fresh fruit, cereal, make your own waffles, microwave eggs, cheese, rice, toast, bagels, muffins, juices, coffee & tea. Overall, it was a great place to stay !!!

“Great place - close to the airport!”

We had stayed at the Millwood three years ago when we were arriving in San Francisco, and very much enjoyed it then, so we hoped it would be as good. It was good this time around, although we had added a toddler, and my parents, and the room with two double beds was a bit crowded. We liked the microwave and fridge, as we used it to heat leftovers. The bathrooms are a bit small, and only have a shower - a definite issue with a toddler. But we skipped a bath that night. The Inn is very close to the airport, about five-ten minutes away, and easy to get to. Breakfast was great, but the breakfast room was way too small with not enough seating for all the people there. We enjoyed the wafflemaker, and the frozen omelets, and the hard-boiled eggs. We also appreciated the front-desk helping us find a place to have dinner, ending up at Chili's. There are a lot of places close by. One more thing - we were glad to have access to the internet computer in the lobby to check flight status info.

“Fantastic Place!”

We had originally booked in the Days Inn but when we got there we were completely disgusted! Looked up Trip Advisor and found Millwood Inn rated #1. We just drove there and the receptionist was sooo helpful. She mangaed to move things around to accomodate all of us (2 parents, 2 children and 2 grandparents) for the 4 days we were in San Fransisco.

The rooms were immaculate and very new. Very quiet and peaceful with little touches here and there. The room had a TV, DVD, VCR, fridge, microwave and a large bathroom. Our room had a king size bed which managed to fit two roll-away beds for the kids. Breakfast was amazing, make your own waffles, toast, eggs, fruit, and a variety of pastries and donunts etc.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone!! Excellent value as well for the service you getting.

“nicely appointed, but lots of noise”

We stayed at the Millwood Inn and Suites on our first few days in the SF Bay area. Our stay was fine although for almost every positive aspect of the hotel I can find, there was a negative. For example, the rooms are nicely appointed, but small (including the 2 bedroom). The general location is good as it is close to the airport and in a nice residential area with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, however the hotel itself is very close to El Camino Real so you will hear some traffic outside even at night. I would suggest a quiet room in the back of the building although I am not sure if that would help. We stayed in 102 or 104 so we were just second closest to the street, but it was still loud. As a matter of fact, the walls are so thin you will probably hear your neighbors like we did (very late at night which woke us up, and then later in the wee hours of the morning by the neighbors to the other side). While this might make you write off the hotel, I must also say that the staff was very responsive to any complaints and offered to talk to our neighbors and take other action to prevent the disturbances if they became loud the next night. The second night ended up being quieter than the first. Breakfast is decent with a few more choices than the average continental breakfast. Additions include microwave breakfast burritos, hard-boiled eggs, a self operated waffle maker with batter, melon slices, yogurt, or miso soup, nori strips and rice if that's your style. Also, parking is not nearly sufficient when the hotel is full, especially when people other than hotel guests are parking there. Assigned parking for each unit would help eliminate this issue or at least help a little. We nearly had to park the car on the side of the street both nights (not good to do with a rental). Check-in and check-out were simple and we had no problems. Overall, the experience was good, but it could've been better.

P.S. Make sure you don't visit SFwhile the Bay-to-Breakers are in town because some attractions will be closed/crowded, hotels will be booked up, and traffic around the SF park area will be very bad.
