After searching for hotels in the city of San Francisco we realized most of them were out of our price range simply because many charge for parking.

We ended up at Millwood Inn where my husband had stayed for business trips prior. It is just outside San Francisco and affordable.
It took us about 15minutes to get to the city.

Our room was a bit tight, but there is almost everything you could ever need. It had everything from a trouser press to the extra phone connector for internet (you don't have to bring your own).

Breakfast was wonderful, better than ANY continental breakfast I've ever had. The staff was great and the whole inn is being remodeled, so the next time we stay it will be brand new.

Thank you Millwood Inn!

“Adored the Millwood!!!”

Millwood Inn

30 Nov 2007

I picked this hotel due to rave reviews on TA and as a result, found what may be the only hotel in the SFO area with beds for six. We're a family of six, with 4 kids, and it is almost always impossible to get one hotel room to accomodate us all. Millwood was WONDERFUL in that regard; the boys had an entire room to themselves with a lovely double bed and the rest of us slept in two other lovely doubles. The bedding was superb. I must be used to Days Inn or other lesser hotels because I LOVED the plush comforter and real pillows. This was the only hotel we've ever stayed in that had more than enough pillows for our crew; I think each bed had FOUR!

The staff was amazingly accomodating; we needed a shuttle at 4am and they opened the breakfast room for us early so the kids could grab some food. I can't complain about a thing; everyone was so helpful, the room was lovely, the bathroom was quaint (loved the colors) and large, it is close to SFO and there is a TRADER JOE'S RIGHT DOWN THE STREET!!!

I emailed the owner a couple times about our stay (beforehand) and was astounded by his attention to detail and courtesy.

We chose this motel for the park & fly package, paying $131 for one night hotel and 10 nights parking. Regular price without the additional parking is $85. The front desk is immensly helpful and the breakfast was rich with choices from homemade waffles to breakfast burritos, danish of many sorts, hard boiled eggs, fancy coffees and more.

The room is appointed with every amenity you can think of and is spotlessly clean. The convenience to the airport without feeling like being AT the airport is very nice. Many good restaurants in the area, seemed weighted in Asian choices.

We will stay here again.

Overall experience was good. The hotel staff was friendly and tried their best to accommodate us. I was there on business in the area and they have included wireless or port access in the rooms. The business center consists of a computer and printer on a lobby desk. The room was comfortable with flat screen TV and VCR, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. There was a phone in the bathroom.

The included breakfast was a deluxe continental breakfast and was well stocked and with variety, included microwavable breakfast burritos and waffle maker. Coffee machine gave you of variety of coffee choices including expresso, latte, and flavored coffee.

Located on a busy street with some construction next door. Many rooms located on street level with the center wing two stories. Many nearby restaurants to choose from. Close to SF airport.

“Good value, above average motel”

I stayed at the Millwood Inn two times in September for four nights altogether. The location is especially convenient for San Francisco airport, and the BART connection from/to Millbrae offers an option to get to downtown San Francisco without having to worry about traffic and finding some parking space. You also get pretty quick to the Golden Gate area and beaches by car. Shopping (from supermarket to mall) and dining is available in the area along Camino Real.

The rooms offer all you might need, from coffee maker, hair dryer, fridge and microwave to flat screen TV with video and DVD player. The room was rather large (but I was travelling alone), beds are really comfortable. There's also a laundry room (washer/dryer are cheaper than those of the common motel chains) and a fitness room (which I didn't find time to use). Free internet connection (in case you don't have a laptop, there's a computer available in the lobby). Breakfast offers a good selection from fruits to preparing fresh waffles - better than the usual 'continental breakfast'.

As a small small drawback, if you stay in the two storey part of the building, you might hear some noise from upstairs (depending, of course, on the folks' upstairs behavior).

I would definitely stay there again.
