Booked this hotel after reading the positive reviews about this place. I was in the area to do some hiking in nearby Point Lobos (Carmel) and Andrew Molera (Big Sur). Motel is close to everything, although you need a car to get around.
Upon arriving at the motel, it's a neat and tidy property. There is no pool or spa or fitness center - just the basics. There are probably about 20 rooms total with your very own parking space right in front. Check in was friendly, got my card key, entered the room, and thought to myself...wait...I'm in a Super 8? Furnishings might be comparable to a Fairfield Inn. I booked a queen size bed. It's just your basic motel room with a TV, fridge, a work desk, and wifi. The bathroom was unusually large. The bed was actually comfortable and I got a good night's sleep. The continental breakfast was basic - just toast, danish, cereals, milk, & coffee. If you want a substantial breakfast, there's a Denny's across the street.
Monterey is super convenient from the motel. Just drive south on Fremont, briefly connect with Highway 1, and then immediately exit into Monterey - wala - you're there!
I'm only taking 1 star off for the weak wifi and the slow-drain tub. Other than that, you can't beat the price paid in Monterey. I would book this place again.
I was staying smack in the middle of the property, so I can't say if it was the best place or no...

We are glad you had a great experience at our property. Our guest rooms were recently renovated, and we used furniture and finishes that you would typically find at a higher end property. We hope you enjoyed your time in Monterey, and remember for the lowest rates at our Super 8 Monterey, please use the "hotel website" link on Trip Advisor.
