The room was good and spacious and inexpensive. Paid US$69.99 for one weekday night excluding tax. Towels were clean. Bathroom was clean. Sheets was clean. Ample parking. Indoor swimming pool. Breakfast was better than other motels. Had air conditioning and heater. The first receptionist we met wasn't very friendly. The subsequent ones we met were friendly. This inn is far from the beach area. Definitely not walkable if you ask me. But we had a car. Driving there took 5 mins. Overall, a better than average inn.

We got what we wanted - good room, good location, reasonable breakfast.

But don't let anyone fool you into thinking that this hotel is within walking distance of the beach!

We stayed here in March for 2 nights and got a good rate including breakfast. We stayed in a room with a huge double bed, the room itself was pretty big with a fireplace which was a nice feature. Room was clean and quite modern, bathroom facilities were modern and clean. The main thing was the room was huge and certainly didn't feel cramped or small like some hotel rooms.

Breakfast was pretty good, cereals, toast and a selection of pastries. The breakfast room was fairly small however as it wasn't peak season we had no problems finding a table although if the place was full I can imagine there may be some problems.

Monterey itself was about 5 minute drive from the motel, no problem in a car. Overall we had a great stay and were very happy with the room and breakfast. We'd certainly stay here again given the size and quality of the rooms!

Prior to our arrival in Monterey, we did alot of checking for hotels in the Monterey area that would best suit our family's needs. In partiular we were looking for a hotel with a reasonable room rate, positive reviews of the hotel and the location of the hotel. Taking all these factors into consideration, we finally decided on the Quality Inn.

We found our room to be clean and comfortable. Furnishings appeared to be older. The bathroom appeared to be remodeled but that was the only part of our hotel room that had been remodeled.

Our children wanted to use the pool and when doing so, very little time was spent there. It was smaller than anticipated and didn't quite live up to the pictures we saw on the website for this hotel.

We were disappointed with the complimentary breakfast room. When we entered, there was no room for the large number of hotel guests that had attended to receive their breakfast. Guests were found outside eating their breakfasts or near the pool area. It had been advised that guests receive their breakfasts and return to their rooms to eat their breakfasts, the note wasn't kidding. The breakfast itself was the usual complimentary breakfast - it met our needs. Upon leaving the breakfast room, we discovered that the breakfast being offered to its hotel guests as well as the breakfast room was to accommodate what we believe is for two hotels-The Quality Inn and its neighbouring sister property.

Overall, our stay was satisfactory. If we should be visiting Monterey in the future, we would definitely be checking the various website(s) and travellers reviews of the Monterey hotels before making our final decision, as we did with our recent visit to Monterey.
