When we travel we usually don't spend a lot for a hotel/motel, since we usually just want a clean place to sleep. Good reviews on several sites encouraged us to spend a little more for the Sand Dollar. What we got for a little more was a little nicer place to sleep! The room was fine, pretty much what you'd expect from a mid-range motel. The balcony was a no-starter, just a narrow ledge looking over the parking lot. The fridge in the room was plus. Breakfast wasn't superabundant, but everything tasted good. A nice outdoor pool; pleasant, helpful desk staff and an easy walk to Fisherman's Wharf were real plusses.
We would stay here again.
