This is a very good place to stay. A clean hotel with very nice service. We felt at home and had a good night sleep. Nice view from the balcony if you blank the power plant on th eright. Never the less this is a good place to stay for the money.

We stayed here for a one night stopover on our way from San Francisco to LA, and for that reason this hotel was fine.
The rooms were slightly old fashioned, but we think the furnishings etc were quite new, just made to look older?
Apart from the corridors smelling a bit musty the room was clean and fine for one night.
We'd suggest giving the breakfast a miss though!

When we checked in to the inn, we were hit with the absolute worst smell. At first we thought it was a perfumed/detergent/cleaning smell, but later figured out it was incense!! It stuck in my throat and my wife's stomach. Very unpleasant. Even the Kleenex smelled like perfume. Later in the day when we came back, the smell went away but was replaced by the smell of curry, which it smelled like the whole time we were there. The beds were hard, the pillows flat and hard, and the blanket was ratty. The comments regarding partial views are correct. You just see the rock and a mighty fine looking house, but really no ocean. Folks at the front desk were accommodating, however. The man did seem a bit miffed though, as I kept asking him to repeat himself as his accent was getting in the way. The shower reminded me of my college days: big and industrial type. I kept looking around for my friends from gym class. We would not come back here again, even if it was free.

We stayed at the Twin Dolphin Inn over the Thanksgiving Holiday Weeekend. The Inn is a 3 Story Building about 2 blocks from the embarcadero. Our room had a lovely view of Morro Rock and the Bay from the balcony. The bed is fairly comfortable. Rooms were well appointed. There is plenty of parking in the garage. The only drawbacks of this place is that the bed linen are old and dated and really need to be updated. and the spa is in a terrible location. While in the spa you feel like you are a fish in an aquarium.

Room was larger than expected and appeared clean, but there was an odd odor, sort of like "cat" but I think the place is pet-free so it was probably something else.
Rules very restrictive, ie., late check-in discouraged because management goes to bed, hours of jacuzzi limited to 4-9:30 p.m., and children not allowed to access any child-oriented sites on the shared computer even with parental supervision. Breakfast is mediocre continental fare. Coffee like water and Sunny Delight instead of OJ. Pillows flat as a pancake but at least there were several extra in the drawers so you could double or even triple up.
The place is exceptionally convenient to the Embarcadero and Main St. shopping, and the parking garage had ample spaces. If you have to stay here due to last minute plans as I did, it is not unpleasant. However, for what you have to pay to stay here in the off-season (which is not cheap), I would expect more pleasant service and nicer amenities. I would try another hotel next time. The Ascot suites down the street looked much more upscale and the rates not that much higher.. However, I think they book up pretty quickly on weekends.
