Nice place. My room was well furnished, decorated, and comfortable with a great price. A night here feels very much like a night in the guest room at the home of a family member. I was happy to find that my room was close enough to the front desk to take advantage of free wireless internet. My room had a fridge and coffee maker as well. If you're accustomed to luxury accomodations then you may want to look elsewhere. If you're looking for a nice place near the center of town for a good price, then consider staying here.

We were enjoying a trip up the Pacific Coast as part of a 14 night trip around California, and decided to stay in Morro Bay for the night. After being quoted some daft prices ($130 plus) for standard looking motel rooms, apparently "because it's friday...", we stumbled across the Morro Crest, still only two blocks from the sea front.

The lady in the office was very friendly and offered us a choice of double rooms for $65 plus tax. One was a little 'interestingly' decorated, but the one we picked, upstairs, was nicely decorated in a pine theme. The room was clean and tidy, decently sized, and was perfectly comfortable. We were also given a helpful map of the town showing where all the useful facilities are, along with the infamous 'rock'!

We dined a short walk away from the hotel, where there is a selection of restaurants, and we enjoyed tasty local seafood whilst watching a lovely sunset.

If I am ever in that part of the world again, I would have no hesitation staying at the Morro Crest.

“Beware!”

Morro Bay itself is wonderful City but, Morro Creast Inn is anything but that. My wife and I decided to stay at Morro Creast Inn for it's price and it's no Smoking rooms. The first thing we saw when we got there were the no smoking signs posted on all the rooms doors. Unfortunately smokers were present and the smell of smoke was near our room and at our front window. Nowhere on the property does it say designated smoking area. I would not have a problem with this but the property manger Jean failed to mention this and was giving us a difficult time about it. We asked for a room change if possible and Jean thought we were crazy for asking. Jean was also forgetful and it was her last week woking there so she felt that she was always right and had no real concern for the coustomers being right, it was very clear that she had no care for the tenants and wanted the week to be done with. She even theatened us to have us kicked out because we complained about the smoking. Other tentants on the property were smoking at the door entrance of their room. Lucky for us it was just a place for to sleep and nothing else. I really hope for the sake of the establishment that they get a new office manger that knows that a customer is always right and place designated smoking area signs in the approrate areas and not give off false sense to those that don't smoke.
I will never return to the Inn. The walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbors very clearly in the next room. If you want cheap this is a place to be. If you want really good R.R. this is diffenately NOT the place to be, beware!

We stayed there for 1 night for $99/night. The room is small but looks cozy and quaint due to its flowery wallpaper, flower wreath hanging on the wall, and a wood frame bed, gives it a country home feel. The bathroom is just a standing shower, clean and cheap toiletries, suggest you bring your own shampoo and conditioner. We found a stain on one of the bath towels but the staff was very friendly at replacing it. She also said they are getting new towels next week, so if you stay there after 6/2006, then you can enjoy the new towels.
