During an unplanned holiday road trip to Morro Bay, a kind clerk at a chain motel with no vacancies sent us over to The Breakers Motel. We were so delighted with it that we spent several days there. The building is three balconied stories, with each upper story becoming consecutively higher priced. The ground floor rooms were $69 a day over New Year's weekend, which we thought was a great deal. The room seemed to have been recently remodeled, and had fluffy comforters on the beds instead of the thin bedspreads that you usually see. Besides the in-room coffee, fridge and microwave, there was a huge ceiling fan and a decent sized tv. What we liked best though, was the location. Not only is there a great view of the big rock, but just across the street a set of steps leads you down to the heart of the wharf area. A couple of blocks in the opposite direction takes you to the quaint, old town section where a farmers markets and street fairs are held. We never used our car while we were there, and it made for a very relaxing stay.
