The main issue is, there are many places to stay when visiting Morro Bay, and one of them should NOT be the Blue Sail Inn. I for one will not be stayng at the Blue Sail ever again. The staff needs leasons in how to treat guests, the place needs a major remodeling. It seems the ownership would rather just take your money not re-invest it in the Inn and not be concerned that the guests are not happy.

I stayed here with family over easter. All together we had three rooms and it was a cute find. We could walk to shops, restaurants and they had covered parking. When you check in be prepared to give your auto license plate # because they ask for it to regulate parking, etc.
The rooms were actually pretty spacious. There was a ref and microwave as well. The bathroom was really clean too. We weren't in the room except to sleep, but it does get a little stuffy at night. The room was warm and they only had a heater. Also, this hotel is listed as a B&B but we didn't see a breakfast set-up anywhere...its more like a motel.

We stayed at this place after we fled another inn in Moro Bay. It is fairly clean and reasonably priced. It's an average motel and is a good value for the money. Staff was accommodating as we requested a room change due to the perfume/disinfectant smell in the room we were originally given. We would probably stay here again.

Website painted a pretty picture and booking on the telephone the receptionist seemed pleasant enough. We were driving up from La Jolla and were due in very late. On the phone, they let us know where we would find the keys and we found the place okay and checked in. Rooms were cleans and comfortable and the bathroom was okay. Location was fine, view was great just like the website said. I could see that we were going to need a late checkout and I went to the front desk where my entire impression of the place changed, the guy on the front desk was just plain rude and unpleasant - enough for me to never want to stay there again or recommend it to anyone else, he might as well have been sitting on in a rocking chair and pointing a shotgun at me. Perhaps it could be turned into an automated hotel where I could check in and out without actually having to talk to anyone.
