My brief but enjoyable stay was enhanced considerably by good advice from the courteous and friendly manager who knows the area well. Also, a very small issue with the very new bathroom sink was cheerfully repaired within minutes of my call.

While this is an older property, the rooms and common areas appear to be very clean and well-maintained. The front desk area has many brochures and mini-menus to help guests with sightseeing and dining choices. High-speed Internet access should be available by late 2005; check with management if interested.

I would recommend this motel without hesitation. I should add that by booking online well in advance, I saved more than 30% compared to the prices that were in effect a week before my stay.

Clean, well equipped and cheap, with friendly staff about sums it up. We stayed overnight on a drive down the coast from San Francisco to LA, and it was OK. Our bed sagged a bit in the middle. No complaints, but nothing to get excited about, either. It was April, and Morro Bay was mostly shut. The room was certainly well equipped with just about every gadget you could need, iron, fridge, microwave. I think they had better trooms with jacuzzi, so worth asking.

Breakfast was OK. The muffins were cut up into quarters and there weren't any trays to take stuff back to your room. I've no idea if that's normal because I haven't stayed in many motels. There was cereals, orange, coffee, and danish.

Our stay in Morro bay was nice. The town closes early so it is good the room has a microwave and fridge in it. - Griff
