Stayed over a weekend in early March for a wedding; ceremony was on Balboa Island; reception in Huntington Beach and other events in between; the hotel's location was great. Our party had 2 rooms, both with bay view. King room was on the smaller side; double was a good size. I paid a little extra for the bay view but it's worth it to me to see the water from the room. The rooms were clean clean clean. Bathroom was unusually large; was handicapped accessible. Nice big counter for all of my stuff. Our whole party loved the breakfast bar - cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt, and more - that was great. There was a coffee maker in the room but our room on the 2nd floor was right by the stairs down to the breakfast area so I would nip down to grab coffee in the morning. (There is also an elevator that goes straight down the lobby). Hubby prefers Starbucks and there is one just down the block. Staff was pleasant and we were happy. You will need a car but this being Southern California it shouldn't be a surprise. Hubby enjoyed exploring the area around the hotel on foot. Pacific Coast Highway is busy busy busy but we had no problem sleeping. Because of the tiny lot the pool is squeezed next to the parking lot (we didn't use it and kids would probably not care) and is definitely not secluded. This again was not a minus for us; we really enjoyed our stay and if we ever return to Newport Beach we will stay here again.

Clean, updated hotel in Newport Beach with a great location and a very nice staff. The rooms were a lot better than expected - not the typical low cost hotel you would expect for the price. If in Newport again, I will definitely stay there.

We turned up and got a room. The first room they tried to put us in was one where a guy had been smoking in it for the whole week. We went and got that room changed.

Nice room, 2 Queen beds, comfy. Our room had a drink vending machine outside it, it was noisy.

Nice hot spa and a small cold swimming pool. Excellent breakfast included in the price. Hot Cinnamon rolls, bacon, scrambled eggs, Orange juice, etc.

One computer/internet for you to use free in the lobby.

Good location near water, close to Restaurant Rusty Pelican. Good restaurant. Walking distance. Close by car to Fashion Island mall.

Just returned from the Newport Beach Holiday Inn Express. Our stay was wonderful. The inn has been recently renovated and all the bed / bath linens were new. The staff is friendly / helpful. You can't go wrong if you decide to stay here. It is in an excellent value for the reasonable price of the room.
