I did not stay at the hotel, but attended a conference here for 5 days. The general areas of the hotel are beautiful and the staff is very helpful. The back of the hotel has a multi-tiered mix of outdoor seating, pool, and garden patio. I can't stress how relaxing a place that was to spend time. Several of the seating areas have gas fire pits and were so relaxing to sit and lounge by the outdoor fire. The back also overlooks a wonderful golf course and out to Catalina Island -- makes for beautiful sunsets.

Fashion Island is directly right across the street and has a great selection of stores and restaurants. Not needing overnight parking at the hotel, I left my car here during the day with no problems.

The food during the conference was excellent and service was also. I can't comment on the rooms, but in general the public spaces and staff were great.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while attending a conference in January. The hotel was nice, the problem was the weather was not typical California weather. It rained and was cool the whole time. My only complaint with the hotel, was there was not any thing to do inside if it was raining, etc. The pool and hot tub were all outside.
The rooms were very nicely furnished and they were very clean. I used room service once and it was quick service.The food at the conference was the best I have ever had at a conference. Very impressed with that. Good variety of food. I am a vegetarian, and was able to get vegetarian meals at each service.
I would not stay here again if I had to pay for it due to the cost, but if attending another conference there, I think it was a great hotel.

My husband had a seminar in Newport Beach and I joined him for 1/2 the week. The hotel and staff were wonderful. Room was gorgeous and clean. We had a beautifull room with a balcony overlooking the pool, golf course, and a view of the ocean. Beautiful sunsets could be seen from the room. The gals at the Starbucks were so friendly also. Our compliments go out to the entire staff. We appreciate being treated so kindly and felt like everyone at the hotel really cared about pleasing their customers. We ate at Sam and Harry's one night and it too was excellent. We can't wait to go back to beautiful Newport Beach and stay at this fabulous Marriott again. It was an awesome experience.
