This is the best value I've found, I come here to body surf and boogie board, sometime just me sometimes I bring the kids. I try to make it out here 3 times a summer. I live over 300 miles away.

The wireless WIFI internet access helps to since I have an online business.

The phone in rooms I've stayed in also have a data port for dial up access in case you hard time configuring the wifi on your laptop. Rooms are clean and you gotta love the remote control Air Conditioning.

Very close to my favorite break just north of the 56st jetty. Staff has always been very nice and helpful.

“An excellent value in Newport Beach”

Newport Channel Inn

My son, his wife and his family of 3 kids, my step-son and my wife and I had a great week at the Inn. The kids ranged in age from 3-13 so the back yard play ground was of just as much value as the walk across the street to the beach. The beach access is close and the beach is clean and far less crowded than what you would find in Huntington Beach closer to the Pier. We had great bicycling right out the front door. The quick and easy PCH car ride acess to events and activities from Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Balboa Island and Huntington Beach was great and the kids burned up the night lights at the theme parks like Disney and Cali Adventure. The hotel cleaning crew was friendly and accommodating, the office staff helpful and attentive and the grounds were maintained and clean. While the rooms are not 3 or 4-star, we found them to be clean and appropriate for the value they were. Ours were connecting so our families could spend plenty of time together, the unique layouts were a plus for us. I would certainly reccommend them. Thanks for making ours a fun family reunion and vacation!

“Newport Channel Inn Rocks”

Newport Channel Inn

California State Parks has used the Newport Channel Inn for the past several years to house lifeguard training cadets along with staff instructors. In addition, we have used it on several occasions to house students and staff for our EMT Program.

Brion and Christine are outstanding owners and very caring people. They treat us like family and bend over backwards to accomodate our unusuall requests. We have about 100 cadets a year stay there over three separate sessions. There are always last minute changes and drops but they just move cadets around as needed. They keep people happy!

They have improved the facililty each and every year since they purchased the property. It is very comfortable and clean. They have a great and responsive staff. Over the past 3 years alone, the rooms have been upgraded with double pained windows, heating/air conditioning, all new beds and furniture, new friges and microwaves, new carpeting, new rollaways and this year new granite sink areas. Beautiful and highly recommended!!!!!!!!!

This is the worst place to stay. I would never recomend it to anyone.
The guys running the office were rude and couldn't agree of a price for the room I wanted. The general manager kept trying to sell me Disney tickets that I didn't want. When I finally did get to my room the floors were dirty, trash cans were full (never emptied for my 3 days) I couldn't get the house keepers to even give me an extra trashbag so I could empty it myself. One night I called the office because of th noise from a party and the night manager said he is not going to do anything about it and to deal with it. With the traffic I watched in the parking lot it reminded me of a "No Tell Motel"

“A little gem in Newport Beach”

What a great find! The Newport Channel Inn is a little diamond in the rough. Although we live locally we hadn't been to Newport Beach for a very long time and had no idea where to stay. We searched AAA and found this little hotel. After reading the reviews listed here we decided to give it a try and are we glad we did!

Newport Channel Inn is a small, family-friendly hotel located just a short drive from the Newport Beach Pier and across the highway from the beach. No view, but an easy walk (even with boogie boards, etc.). No parking lots at this point of the beach so it's not crowded at all.

The hotel has a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. They even supply beach towels! The rooms (although don't expect The Ritz) are very nice, extremely clean and have new furniture. The entire hotel is kept very clean. They even have a Japanese-style shoji screen you can slide out to separate the bath area from the bedroom area. Our daughters loved having a little more space and privacy in which to change after their shower.

The entire staff was great!! They were friendly, helpful and on the ball. They have discount tickets for every thing you can imagine. We loved all the dining tips they gave us and coupons. We felt just like locals. Every tip was a winner!

Convenient location, great beach, great people. We can't wait to go back!
