California State Parks has used the Newport Channel Inn for the past several years to house lifeguard training cadets along with staff instructors. In addition, we have used it on several occasions to house students and staff for our EMT Program.
Brion and Christine are outstanding owners and very caring people. They treat us like family and bend over backwards to accomodate our unusuall requests. We have about 100 cadets a year stay there over three separate sessions. There are always last minute changes and drops but they just move cadets around as needed. They keep people happy!
They have improved the facililty each and every year since they purchased the property. It is very comfortable and clean. They have a great and responsive staff. Over the past 3 years alone, the rooms have been upgraded with double pained windows, heating/air conditioning, all new beds and furniture, new friges and microwaves, new carpeting, new rollaways and this year new granite sink areas. Beautiful and highly recommended!!!!!!!!!
