I stayed at the Marriott Bayview for one night with my 2 teenage boys. The hotel is nice but does have some problems. The location is quite a distance from the ocean and in a business park setting. I asked for a bay view room and was told I would have to pay an extra $30 for the room. (I booked the room using Marriott points). The room is nice with a separate living room and sleeping room however the bathroom set up is very inconvenient. The sink is in the master bedroom and is separated from the other bathroom area by a sliding door. The door is very heavy and doesn't slide well so it is impossible use on a regular basis. If you have someone sleeping in the livingroom it is an awkward set-up. The bathroom was worn and not very clean. The breakfast was decent with a variety of food choices. We didn't get to use the pool but it looked ok. Very small but heated. Overall, I don't think I would stay there unless using Marriott points. We loved the Crab restaurant on Balboa Peninsula. Get there early because the line starts around 6pm.
