Trying to find new exciting places to stay in the same old places I travel and booked this hotel.
It is a basic Best Western. I am used to beach hotels in communities up and down california and this is no different. Somehwat old, somewhat rundown, pretty basic and friendly people.
My room was huge, but with the exception of the bed, a desk and chair and a small fridge it was bare. Almost laughable, it looked like my first apartment when I was 19. The bed was hard but they were replacing them during my stay.
I didnt mind my stay here, but I knew what I was getting into, having grown up in Santa Cruz Ca this place didnt scare me. If you are looking for something really nice, you should probably be warned, but it is what it is. That said, I think I will try a different place next time.

My spouse and I stayed here for 4 days for a family wedding. We researched everywhere in Newport Beach and after many hours decided here for the price and location. We had a partial ocean view, which is what it literally was since you could see the ocean through the alley across the street, and the room was nice with a balcony. The staff was friendly but we had called ahead to make sure there would be a fridge in the room, and it didn't arrive until the 2nd day after several phone calls to the front desk. It was easy to walk around to restaurants and the beach, and the Newport Beach penninsula was a mile down the street which made driving into town super easy. Overall I would stay here again.

My husband and kids stayed at this property for a week. My 3 year old got sick on the car ride and we had to stop multiple times before we arrived at the hotel. My husband called on our way to see if they could accommodate us earlier than anticipated. As soon as we walked thru the lobby the staff knew who we were and were ready for us... they even had information for us as to what the nearest pharmacy was as well as directions...Great service from every staff encountered. Once my todler felt better we headed for the beach. Kids were so excited to pick as many beach toys they wanted for the day! This was our best summer family vacation...the rooms were clean and well kept, good waffles in the morning...Thank you Best Western Staff for making this our home away from home. We will stay here again!

I have stayed in a thousand hotels and motels in the last 15 years and this one rates among the worst. Not in a cleanliness way - it was actually fine - but in a service and noise way. The guy at the front desk was more concerned with his internet access and cell phone than answering a simple question but that isnt the deal breaker. The deal breaker:

The walls were as thin as paper so the TV's in the two rooms to either side of me were almost as loud as mine. They were on well into the night and at 5 am the guy next to me starts yapping on the phone. I could hear everything he said. It was as if he was in my room. I am not exaggerating! Luckily for me I had to get up at 5:30 otherwise I would have been very crabby. It was the loudest hotel experience I have ever had (well that isnt quite true NYC has a few).

The place is nowhere near the town so you have to drive to eat or shop. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
