I stay with the Ayres quite often as I have come to trust the brand and know what I am getting for the money. This hotel isnt as nice as the rest of their properties but is still a good value for the money and a nice clean safe hotel.
The decor is typical Ayres, rather baroque and gaudy but functional and newer. The bed is comfortable and the location is pretty good, close to the Block in Orange as well as across the street from UCI medical.
I would definately stay here again as it is one of the nicer hotels in the area and is far enough away from Disney to avoid the congestion yet there are many dining options in the area.

Definitely a clean, well maintained property. Best thing is the staff which is friendly and helpful. Room rates are reasonable and location is good. Only slight negative is the bathroom is relatively small.

“Mediocre At Best”

Ayres Inn Orange

18 Feb 2008

I had previously stayed at the Ayres in Seal Beach and had a great experience there. So, when my husband and I were looking for a romantic weekend getaway near our home, we though we'd give the Ayres Orange a try. Unfortunately, this property is an older hotel that the Ayres chain purchased and renovated, and it really isn't that nice. It seemed to be the go-to spot for families with very young children visiting area tourist attractions, like Disneyland, for the weekend. So, if that's your bag, this hotel might be for you.

They were renovating the hallways when we were there, so things were sort of in transition.

Overall, really mediocre. I wouldn't stay there again.

“Servicable, friendly, decor a little tacky”

Stayed here during New Years Eve while visiting Disneyland, and had a lovely time sleeping. There is a hospital across the street so I heard a helicopter once or twice in the night.

The wireless was down when I arrived but was up by the time I returned from Disneyland the next day. Room was clean.

Breakfast was hot, but not my cup of tea most days. Ended up grabbing a bagel and cream cheese twice, and had pancakes once.

The shuttle is serviceable, but must be scheduled in advance.

Most of the front desk staff is helpful. There was a tour group -- maybe two of them -- here during my stay that seemed to overwhelm the staff.

The decor in the hallways seems to feature local landmarks. The floor I was on had pictures donated by the folks at the Crystal Cathedral, including notable preachers. Might be off-putting to some.

“Ayres Inn, Good Value”

After reading several reviews, on multiple sites, I decided to trust the majority of reviews on Tripadvisor (I always discount the highest and lowest reviews and rely on the the majority of the rest) and booked the Ayres Inn Orange as part of a package through Priceline. We were not at all dissappointed. We got exactly what we expected. A smaller hotel, clean, comfortable, and in good repair. There is no question that this facility has seen better days, but clean and comfort are paramount to us. The daily breakfast added value (basic, but better than continental). The staff were all very friendly and we had no issues with service at all. Our room was very comfortable for my wife, 9 y.o. son, and I. The maid service was excellent.

We were here over New Years and had only one brief issue with noise by a guy on his cell phone in the hall at 2:30 in the morning. That was short lived though. We did take advantage of the free shuttle to Disneyland and that was fine. We also drove after figuring out how to manage getting in and out of the hotel (because of traffic controls), this was not that difficult with a little preparation! The Hotel is near the "Block at Orange" a nice shopping center, and several restaraunts are within a short distance. In short, we would gladly stay here again!
