Upon arrival we were able to secure a pool/mountain view room only if we waited for it to become available which did become after the 4pm check-in. Do not plan to check-in early, other people mentioned the same thing. Just get your swimwear and head to to pool to wait or walk the short 2 blocks to the main strip of Palm Springs. When we did finally get our room we found that the sofabed was falling apart and since we planned for our kids 4 & 6yrs to sleep on it they offered to bring in 2 rollaway beds at no cost. A bit cluttered, but it worked out fine (although they could not remove the sofabed till our 3rd day and replace with a sofa we could actually sit on.) The service through all this was extremely prompt and professional. Not a great start, but the rooms were very large, huge bathroom with a large sunken tub, actually 2 baths attached w/a pocket door. 1 had double sinks, walk-in closet, bathtub and toilet, other had shower, sink, toilet. Kitchen was dated but very adequate. Nice to have this space for a family. The balcony/patio was huge and well furnished. The best was the pool area which was well kept and clean, pool heat was very nice - I'd guess 85-87 degrees, nice kiddie pool just steps from the big pool same temp and whirlpool. A workout room just down the stairs from the pool area was nice, also there were 2 tennis courts which we did not use as well as ping pong table and pool table on-site (indoors). The walk to downtown was very short with many restaurants/shops. I would definately recommend this property especially for families. Many people staying there were timeshares and thus many of the nicer views/locations were owned by the timeshare. Hotel Zoso next door seemed a nicer place/more elegant & less family oriented if you don't care about the kitchen and they do offer poolview or non-pool view rooms at time booking if that is crucial to you vs. Marquis villas on request only, we got lucky, but everyone we talked to on a per night booking had an exterior/parking/street view room.
