“Drunk teens rule this dump!!”

Best Western Inn at Palm Springs

5 Jun 2008

Checked in at 4pm on Sunday, pool party was going all day and all night. Drunk kids all over the hotel, no help at the front dest, no securty. NONE. People wher moving out at 3 am, could not take the noise anymore, Police came to the hotel 3 times that night. Stay ANY place but this dump. I think they are closing this place soon and they will rent to anyone who has cash in hand.

“Great value.”

Best Western Inn at Palm Springs

17 Apr 2008

We ended up stopping here at about 2:30 A.M. in order to get some much needed rest and relaxtion and was very happy with the results. Upon check in the front desk gave us a discount due to the late hour and since this was a unscheduled stop for us and our toilitries were in L.A. where we were really staying they were nice enough to provide us with all the free toilitries without us needing to ask for a toothbrush. Once in our room we were very pleased with how clean and nice the room was for such a good price. Beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of towels. We would definitely stay there again.

We blew into town for a 4 day stay to look at property. What a nightmare. We had a young partiers above us who continued to toss beer cans off their deck and yell all night long while having drunken pool parties. Friday and Saturday were both nights of about 4 hours of sleep. There is NO security here. One lone woman mans the front desk and when we called to get assistance, she could not leave her desk. One of the hotel guests acually went to the pool to try and ask the partiers to leave and were actually beat up and taken to the hospital. This is NO lie. The manage himself re-counted the story to us today when he called back on our complaint,. The open 24 pool with no security is NOT A GOOD thing. The managment offered us 20% off our bill. BIG deal. For no sleep for 2 nights, that is not cutting it with us. We will never stay there again and certainly will not reccomend it to anyone else.

“Not Smoke-Free!”

Best Western Inn at Palm Springs

I booked this stay knowing that this particular Best Western would be a mid-level motel, so wasn't expecting luxurious accomodations. However, I was pleased to note in the description of the property that it was advertised as being "smoke-free." Indeed!! When I spoke to the desk assistant about this policy, noting that the rooms smelled vaguely of smoke, he replied (as he stood RIGHT OUTSIDE the lobby door SMOKING!) that "only the rooms were designated smoke-free." In addition to the receptionist smoking, there were sand-filled urns in the outside hallways that were filled with cigarette butts, and I saw several people smoking around the pool. This was a problem for me as the room I stayed in was extremely dark and dingy (mold on the ceiling above the shower) and did not invite habitation other than to sleep. So my husband and I left the property each morning after a hastily consumed (and complementary ) cup of coffee and a bowl of oatmeal. Thank goodness for the wide open spaces of the desert surrounding Palm Springs. We spent our days hiking in Indian Canyon and exploring the area, NOT lounging at the pool at the Best Western. Will never stay here again.

Have stayed here twice,in 2004 and 2006.Loved the hotel first time round but on our second visit did encounter problems with the room which im glad to say were rectified.
We arrived at hotel just after 8 and were given room 418,unfortunatly there was alot of noise coming outside which appeared to be something to do with the air ventilating system, the noise was quite constant and fairly loud so we asked for another room. The receptionist was very pleasant and apologetic and gave us room 424.The problems were not over though,in this room we were greeted with a really awfull smell,it smelt of cat urine. We looked round to see if we could discover the source of the problem, which my daughter found when she stepped in to a wet patch outside the bathroom! There was no way on earth we could stay in this room so again went to see the reeptionist who told us the only other room was 418,so we decided to go back and sleep with the noise, which in the end didnt seem to much of a problem although it did keep my wife awake.Next morning we moved to room 210,which was very clean and quiet.
Apart from that i like the best western although it is a little way from the main part of the town.
The receptionists were always very cheerfull and could,nt do enough for you.The rooms are a good size and a good powerfull shower in bathroom.Did find though that the cold water was never really that cold, infact it was quite warm, not sure if this is because of the desert location.
Love the pool area and the moutains behind.Bfast is,nt actually included instead there is a cabin by the pool where you can buy cereals and fruit etc.Usually we would buy our own stuff and bring it down to the pool with us in the morning.
On our first visit the guy in the cabin was very friendly,so friendly infact he wouldnt stop chatting and he was a big fan of Julie Andrews,we always found it quite funny if somebody got caught chatting to him,as theyd end up there for the rest of the morning!!
I love Palm Springs and recommed a trip to the Indian canyons where you will see all types of different Palm trees as you walk along the trail and some very stange rock formations as well as loads of lizards.Thankfully we didnt come across any Rattle Snakes! Also the Village Fest on a thurs evening is well recommended.Although if you bring the car my advice is get parked up early!
I would stay at the Best Western again although next time around id like to spend a little more and be a little closer to the main hub of things!
