“Stayed one night - should have stayed more”

Used as an overnight stop for costal trip after the Big Sur, before LA.. It was foggy so we did not see it at its best. The rooms are situated over the parking garage & getting to them it does not look great, a bit more motel than hotel. However, once you are in the suites are wonderful. Very clean, comfortable and spacious. We had two bedrooms, one King & two doubles. Each had its own ensuite shower - great with three teen age daughters. Each suite overlooks either the spectacular beach or the activity deck, with a small balcony.
There is a heated poof & jaccuzi on the cliff edge overlooking the sea, a games deck with volleyball, ping pong, mini golf & a giant chess board!
Breakfast is in the rate & good buffet of the usual pasteries & cereals together with a make your own waffle iron!
The do not serve dinner so you have to drive to Pismo or for a wider choice St Luis Obispo.
Overall a very good hotel overlooking a fantastic beach - we wish we had stayed a few days longer.

“Great Views”

Pismo Lighthouse Suites

12 Oct 2007

We had a partial view of both the pool area and the sea. Found the accomodation very clean, room nicely decorated. Internet access available in the reception area
No issues with noise, apart from the sound of the ocean, and a little noise from the nearby highway.
Access to the beach via some steep steps, a nice walk into Pismo - around 10-15 minutes.
Overall, a nice place to stay, if a little quiet in the evenings.

“Fantastic location with the best complimentary breakfast!”

Pismo Lighthouse Suites

We stayed here for 3 nights in September as a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers in one of the family suites. The location is great - just a few steps down onto Pismo Beach with great views. The suite was large with a king bed, microwave and fridge plus a queen bed in the second room. Both rooms were a good size and very clean although it would have been better for us if the second room had had 2 single beds rather than a queen.
The highlight is the complimentary breakfast which is the best by a long ay that we have come across in many holidays to the USA. A vast array of cereals, fruit, muffins, pastries and bagels are provided but topping this are the 3 large waffle irons to make your own waffles - they are fantastic!! Other benefits are constant free coffee and cookies in the lobby, an excellent play area with table tennis, badminton, mini golf and chess and a pool. The staff are superb and were busy polishing the swiming pool screens at 7.0 am!!
We were a bit surprised that there is no air conditioning as even in September, it was warm, but the ceiling fans helped. No other food is provided other than breakfast, which is a pity as it means driving out in the evenings. There is only one close by restaurant in walking distance which is good but quite pricey. A great hotel, would certainly stay here again.

“Good place with kids and to celebrate”

We had a gathering of our family from 3 areas to celebrate my husband's birthday. Two kids were part of the celebrations.
We stayed at a great hotel, Pismo Beach Lighthouse Suites. Our room, 3201, had a balcony and a great view of the bay and waves breaking. We were even at the height of the pelicans as they flew by. The hotel has a game deck that was nice with kids: badmitton, ping pong, a few golf holes, and a giant chess board. The biggest hits with the kids were the pool and going down to the beach in the morning early (in shorts because you'll wade in the icy water) to find sand dollars.

We ate for the birthday dinner at McClintocks in Pismo (they make reservations Sunday-Thursday but not on Friday and Saturday). They are very kid friendly and family friendly. Very entertaining with the waiters pouring water from up high. They did a big thing with singing waiters for the birthday fellow with an ice cream sundae for him. The kids even elected to have them stand on chairs and pour water blindfolded into a glass on each of their heads. Yes, it's theatrical but the food is good--mainly beef but a good child's menu too and something even for me the vegan: a great corn tamale, veggies, and rice on the Farmer's Market plate...family style beans, potatoes, bread and more.

Lunch the next day we ate at Marita's, a not bad Mexican restaurant in a shopping center. Dinner was at a family favorite for years, Del's Pizzeria...umm, the yeast rolls! Afterwards we all walked next door to the Dinasaur Caves Park--a public park with a dinosaur theme that the children, 7 and 4 years old, really liked.

We booked this after consulting tripadviser and were very pleased with our choice. It is not in the centre of Pismo, but that was fine with us as we had a car. We had two nights on our trip north and wanted to bike the dunes and have time to go to the beach. The hotel was clean and tidy and had the added bonus of Badminton, table tennis and a pool. This went down big with our teenagers. We had a partial ocean view- which was really quite an extensive sea-view from the side of the apartments. We had two bedrooms and two bathrooms which were very comfortable - and quiet. The grounds were well kept and did not suffer from pelican invasions unlike our neighboring hotels. Breakfast was not extensive but adequate, served in a small dining room area. There were outdoor seats and tables - but early morning fog made these a bit cold, so less attractive. The pool was smallish but warm and pleasant. We never found it crowded. Lovely view down to Pismo beach. Plenty of dining opportunities - our teenagers liked F Mclintocks just up the road - very popular. I think we sang happy birthday 4 times!! We would certainly stay here again.
