“nice website, terrible service, will never go back again”

This hotel's service is unbelievably bad. The staff are very irresponsible. The price they listed on their website does not include tax, and they force you to pay a "resort fee" upon arrival that supposedly is for the parking.
I booked a Valentine's package and it is supposed to include Valentine's Day dinner, one night's stay, and rose petals on the bed etc. I tried to place the dinner reservation right after I booked it and I was told that they will call me later. Two weeks later someone in the restaurant called and said "why didn't you make a reservation early, we are full before 8". I told her that I tried to do it earlier and I was waiting for them to call me! Then she agreed to put me in at 6:30. And guess what? The day before I arrived I was told that my dinner reservation is moved to after 9!
On top of that, the rose petal they put on the bed are not real -- they are made of cheap plastics!
Dinner was also disappointing. The food were okay at most and the server kept rushing us. We never received the truffles.

“The Cliffs is Nice”

Stayed at The Clffs this past weekend and for the most part, was pleased. Room was on the 4th floor overlooking the pool and with amazing ocean views. The room was large and nicely appointed with the sliding plantation shutters being a nice touch. The bathroom amenities were very nice, and nearly full sized. The bathroom was full marble, as well. Problems we encountered were 1) we had to make several requests to have a roll-away brought to the room, 2) the pool was very, very noisy at night and during the day there is a water feature that runs at the pool, which drowns out the ocean - too bad. Would have been nice to have plexi-glass at the pool to block the wind, and 3) our bill did not reflect the rate at which I booked the room - it was adjusted, no questions asked. Plus to have a fridge in the room, minus was horrible TV reception, and very limited channel selection (maybe 7 channels). I did like The Cliffs, and would book here again.

My wife and I decided to take a much-needed vacation this holiday season, so after speaking with a few friends about where to go, they suggested The Cliffs Resort. I have passed by this hotel on several occasions traveling down Highway 101 and have never thought to stay there, but with my friend’s suggestions, I booked an Oceanfront Suite and we were on our way…

Aside from the unbelievable location, the customer service was like none I’d seen before. Not only did the staff go above and beyond what I was expecting, they were always on top of anticipating our needs. They were helpful everywhere from check-in, to the restaurant, to the spa, to the pool, to the gift shop, to housekeeping, to baggage. It was spectacular customer service.

Needless to say…we had a fabulous stay! We never had to worry about a thing and all our wishes were granted. There’s no doubt we’ll be back (sooner than later!).

The Cliffs resort has comfortable suites and some of those suites have great views, if you are lucky. Customer service is lacking however. We experienced the "tell the customers anything to shut them up" policy at this hotel. Rooms had been reserved and paid for well in advance for specific areas within the hotel, but upon arrival some in our group were told that these rooms were all occupied. Later during our stay we found out that several of the rooms in those areas of the hotel were in fact empty and given to visitors who arrived much later than us. When questioned about being misled, the staff response was "Sorry to hear that." without any effort to explain or try to keep us as return customers. We will not be returning to the Cliffs Resort. You may have great stay at the Cliffs Resort, but don't expect to get what you signed up for.

We stayed in Pismo Beach for a couple of days after Christmas for a brief getaway. We only stayed for one night at the Cliffs Resort and then ventured down to our favorite hotel, the SeaVenture Resort. Overall our experience was really good. We opted for the oceanfront suite and the room was VERY nice! We were located on the second (main) floor and the view of the ocean was incredible. The room was immaculate. The bed was extra comfy and the in room jacuzzi tub was a nice way to relax. Being tall, I just wish the tubs were a bit longer. Being a non-smoker I was ticked off a bit when I was sitting in the tub with the balcony doors open to hear the ocean and get that nice clean ocean air and somebody decides to smoke on their balcony and the smell drifted into our room. The rooms in the hotel are non-smoking. Check in was a bit slow and we were surprised when there were about 10 of us waiting to check in and only 1 sometimes 2 people working on the registering of guests. We also counted 5 families who had dogs with them but all animals were well behaved. I did hear one person complain the next morning about stepping in dog cr#p while walking the hotel grounds but we didn't see any. Would definitely stay here again.
