A group of us had planned a weekend of ATV riding on the beach in nearby Oceano. We spent the first night on the beach, but it was so miserably cold, so we decided to spend the second night in a hotel. We chose Motel 6 because some of the other riders were staying there and it was only minutes away from the Oceano dunes.
When I called to make the reservation at 9 am, I asked how soon we could check in (we were desperate for showers and were willing to spend extra if needed to get in early). To my surprise, he said we could check in immediately at no additional charge.
So we headed on over and checked in. I immediately noticed a funny smell and tacky decor in the room. It was also very small. Quite frankly, I didn't care. I was just happy to have a hot shower(which was also tiny) and a warm room to sleep in. We basically just took our showers and headed back to the dunes and didn't come back until bedtime. We never did get any clean towels for the next day...whatever.
Basically, I think this place is perfect if all you need is bed and a shower and don't want to spend a lot of money (65 bucks for 4 people, can't beat it!). I wouldn't recommend this place if you actually plan on spending time in your room.

I am a little bias, as I work in a great hotel. However, anyone would have been surprised! There was no VCR/DVD player, no internet, pool was not heated, no breakfast, coffee for a couple hrs & that was it, tiny room, no tub, horrid bed spreads, and a fan that only worked half the time. Staff was short and rude. The room was very clean and the bathroom immaculant. Also, next door to store and Denny's which was nice. Great location, but not even worth the measly $49.00 per night.

Staff wasn't the friendliest, and the room was the smallest room I've ever stayed in. But the location is great and the price was right. No more than two per room or it will be too crowded. No internet access, but outlet mall and starbucks across the street.

My husband, myself and our 13 year son stayed two nights at Motel 6 on March 16 & 17. It isn't a 5 star hotel so don't expect that. If you are looking for somewhere to sleep that isn't expensive this is it. The check-in was easy and the man at the desk was friendly. The room is basic and small, but was clean and smelled fresh. We spent the day at the dunes and weren't in the room all day so we didn't need it to be large. The bathroom was clean and pretty big. They allow pets which is pretty nice. I would recommend staying here if you don't need fancy.
