Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Sea Crest. To be fair, they bill themselves as a "Resort Motel" which is the first clue that this is a budget property.
The hotel itself was adequate...the rooms were spacious but not luxurious but the views were fantastic. You are right on the water's edge. The room decor was dated even though there was aparently a recent renovation. It was definitely only a 2 star place. Staff was very nice, however. One notable problem was that they did not have enough food or coffee ready for the guests at the morning continental breakfast. There is also very little seating. Our second morning, there was no coffee at all and we were told it would take at least 30 minutes for their machine to brew it. So, we sat out on the lawn facing the ocean, ate our bagels and drank our OJ and then drove to Starbucks!
I never even thought about the fact that it was a beach hotel on spring break but it was loaded with partying college kids so it was NOT quiet!! This was very poor planning on my part but we were visiting for a college tour. The first night we were awakened at least 6 or 8 times, the 2nd night was better.
All-in-all (spring break not withstanding) this would be a decent budget beach hotel if you are just looking for a place to crash at the end of the day.
