We stopped at the Sandcastle on our way down CA1 to LA and found a Jem. It was clean and the staff helpfull but best of all it opens straight on the boardwalk and the beach. There is no restaurant or bar in the hotel so we went to get an evening meal, just the sun was setting over the sea and had great fish and chips (almost liking being back home) in a little restaurant in the resort. Just off the main highway this hotel makes a great stopover place but being on the beach you could stay a few days with ease. A good selection in the morning at the free breakfast set us up for the drive to LA

Upon arriving at the Sancastle Inn, I was impressed. The place was nice, clean, the staff courteous, and the location great! I traveled with my boyfriend and our two young kids, three years old and three months. The Sandcastle Inn is located right on the beach, along the boardwalk and pier. We did not need our car to get around, the town shopping and restaurants were less than a five minute walk away. We ate the continental breakfast in the lobby and lounged in the outdoor spa with a view of the ocean. Our room was nice and had a balcony . Even the tolietries that were provided were beauty store high quality. If I had to name one complaint, it would be that the refrigerator in the room was loud. From the inside out, I was pleased by our choice to stay here and really glad I was able to find us a room here. I used trip advisor to research hotels in the area and read reviews. I would definitely recommend the Sandcastle Inn and would defintely stay here again.

Hotel was nice, view was remarkable and breakfast was a great plus. We really enjoyed our stay. There were several children in the Hotel so it was not extremely quiet all day but it was really nice and peaceful. Great to sleep with the sound of the waves and cool air.

We arrived Aug 6-7, my sister and mom and I. We had a pier view room. The room it self was clean and comfortable but the problem was its location. Just outside across the street are little rental houses and some of the occupants were having a bar-b-que and also a live rock and roll band. The band was okay but if you wanted some peace and quiet and relaxation you were not going to get any. The band continued until ten p.m. Upon check out I brought this up to the clerk and she just gave me a confussed look like I was making the whole story up. I will probably not stay here again and choose a hotel closer to Shell Beach.
