I love visiting "The Steaming Bean." I recently vacationed in Pismo Beach after an absence of many years. I stayed at the Palomar and walked next door to "The Steaming Bean" every morning. At 7am the place is full of locals conversing and using the free Wi-Fi. The staff are smiling and friendly, the coffee is fresh and good, and you can choose from several varieties. On my last day, I bought a refill (50 cents) then walked out, leaving my laptop neatly packed on a chair by the door. Inside were many essentials, including documents and checks I needed to deposit. I realized several hours later on a freeway far away...and had to concentrate to stay on the road. Well, I called the next morning, and Carmen said my bag was safe and sound in their office. I drove all the way back today, and upon arrival I met the local gentleman who found my computer and turned it in. He said, "It's the second laptop I've found in two weeks." Now I'm enjoying a delicious ham and cheese quiche before driving several hours. I thought about writing a positive review here a few days ago, before all of this, because I genuinely like this place. So visit "The Steaming Bean," and stay at the Palomar Hotel next door if you're looking for a no-frills, clean and affordable place to stay (I'm a repeat customer there, too).
BTW, they're only open until 4pm each day, so go for breakfast or lunch and in between.
