Basically you can hear the noise from next door and someone above you, which is terrible while you want a good night of sleep.
I finally work up to complain to the front desk and she told me there's nothing they could do about it. And she told me the best way is complain is "emailing" the owner Sam Bhakta about the situation. There is only ONE person at the front desk so basically if the person is helpless you are screwed.
I also requested a cab drive from Pacific Inn to the Redwood Caltrain station. However, they didn't inform me the cab would not be on time so I missed my train, which only runs once an hour. The cab (VIP) also overcharged me. I called back to complain to both hotel and cab service, the cab even wanted me to pay 75 dollars from Redwood to the San Fran, saying to "make it up" for the time I loss (my train goes to San Fran). I wasted 1 hour waiting for my train and they told me to pay extra to make it up for me??? Unbelievable!!! Anyway, please avoid both this hotel and the cab service if you can!

I had very mixed feelings about staying here, after reading many reviews of it. I think that many of the reviews are very outdated, and dates should be noted carefully.

It seems to me that the motel has been updated extensively, and that a very(!) serious effort is underway there to make travelers feel welcome and cared for.

We were in a deluxe room, still small but cozy and comfortable, with a very good bed, good amenities, and a basic large bathroom with a jacuzzi. Everything was freshly painted, and crown molding had been added to the room. We had a single width room, with no one front or back, or above.

The place seems to be very well staffed, with staff visible all the time. Breakfast was appealing, very varied and plentiful, with hot choices and a very cheerful and friendly staff person in attendance. They no longer serve dinners here.

We requested extra pillows, and they arrived within 5 or 10 minutes. Fresh popcorn, nachos and cookies, as well as coffee, are always available in the lobby. The motel is built so that most of the rooms are well away from the road and the businesses out there. That was definitely a non-issue. The other residents we saw were families and couples such as ourselves.

The regular rooms may be in a two story building which may not have been as appealing as ours was. They seem to have a variety of rooms.

It was a quiet refuge for us, and we felt cared for. I would definitely return. This place has off-beat charm for me. It was a terrific(!) value! That should be kept in mind when reading the review.

This is a great hotel. I payed 69 + tax but the room a fridge, iron, board, tv, jacuzzi, and best of all free full hot breakfast. The bed was comfortable and nice and big (king size). They provided fresh baked cookies and coffee when we checked-in. I had also realized I forgot a few things, such as my toothbrush, comb, and tampons, luckily they had everything there for sale. I did not have to spend time in the long lines of a store. We later decided to have wine, and luckily they also had wine glasses and a wine opener. The jacuzzi, which was in the room, was great, the bubbles are provided. The best part of all was the breakfast. For breakfast they have more than I would make at my own home. I can't believe it was complimentary! There was scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, bagels, cereal, fruit, yogurt, pancakes, french toast, french vanilla cappuccino, etc. This is truly a great deal for the price I payed. There is a gentlemen's club across the street but there was no traffic from that. The managers keep a good eye on the property I saw them walking around at night to make sure there was no noise. The police also come in an out through the day and night to make sure every thing is quiet. I told the clerk I was afraid after I saw the review for the person who was charged 7 times and she told me that was because the guest made a group reservation for those room and never showed up, so according to their cancellation policy this makes sense. So, overall this place is terrific. Please try it for yourselves.
