Stayed here for four nights while doing business in Redwood City (~3miles away). The hotel was clean, the staff was very nice and helpful, the room was bright and quiet and nicely furnished (with free and strong wi-fi). Free spacious parking lot. Felt safe. Easy access to/from freeway.
Feedback for hotel management if they read this: (1) The breakfast was just okay. I know it is free, but it needed to be monitored better to keep it stocked. No yogurt one morning. Out of spoons at one point. No bananas one day. Sticky floor one day. (2) Two of the outer doors I tried wouldn't accept my key card, even though the card worked perfectlyl each day for my room. I told the front desk staff, who said they'd have it checked, but it wasn't fixed later that day.
There are lots of restaurants on Laurel Street in San Carlos (try Guiliana's - it's great!) and also in a little shopping center toward the bay. There is also a little walking trail along the estuary, but I didn't see it until the last day!
I would stay here again if I come back this way.
