Well, it's a motel 6. But, as far as they go, this one has nicer grounds than most with trees all around and a pool in the middle. Nicer than the north one.

Stayed here one night with my wife and our eleven year old while traveling north on the Pacific Coast Highway and we were very happy with our choice. First you cannot beat the $53 price and while I agree about the linens and towels being on the thin side it's exactly what we expected from a Motel 6. Am I complaining. No. A few things we look for in a hotel is comfortable beds, cleanliness, safety and good shower pressure. This motel 6 met each of the criteria. We were extremely satisfied with the two beds between the three of us and found them to be comfortable. The location was easy to find, attractive and the grounds and rooms were very well kept, Front desk was personable and helpful.

My husband & I stayed here overnight en route to Monterey. We did not expect luxurious accomodations, but we were a bit disappointed in the sparseness of the room. First of all, the bedding was extremely thin (one sheet, one threadbare blanket). Both of us were so cold throughout the night, so we turned on the heater. This resulted in a very warm room. So, it was either really cold, or really warm.

Also, we could hear everybody who passed our room and dragged their suitcases behind them - even @2am.

Finally, being so close to the 101fwy, you do hear alot of traffic noise - esp in the morning, as people make their way up & down CA.

If you're looking for convenient, quick, and no-hassle accomodations, then this it! But personally, I wouldn't stay beyond one night.

For $53 a night, this hotel was a great value. It was clean and in a safe part of town. And it's only 10 minutes from downtown SLO. The only things I didn't like was the bed and the towels. The bed was hard as a rock and the towels were thin and rough. But come on, how much can you expect from a 1-star hotel for $53 a night. I was only there to sleep, so it wasn't a big deal for me.
